That and his obvious depression. Sad. |

I've listened through his 4-4 video and it does seem like he had to work for a boss who doesn't have nearly as much experience as he does in his area. Lorena is a bumbling idiot who can't even formulate a sentence - her broadcast knowledge is for shit and she gets backed up by her boss and the HR lady. Sad ending for this guy. |

I wanted to know what drove him to end his life in the fashion he did. It was clear to me Lorena and Kathie wanted to get rid of him because he was more intelligent than they were. He could out perform them at their jobs. They undermined Phil on every project. Lorena and Kathie pushed this guy over the edge. I live in Austin and I remember when the story about the jogger aired. The city was in outrage about the whole ordeal. What I noticed is that Facebook photo was approved by either Kathie or Lorena, neither one of them got in trouble over it. He took the fall over it. There comes a time in every job where you need to just bail and get out. He never did that, he kept fighting and tried to prove his point and it got the best of him. Was he fucked over by Lisa, Kathie, Lorena and the GM? Yes, but that happens to lots of people in the corporate world. If he thinks FOX is going to pay 1 Billion dollars to his sisters, he is crazy. They will not get a dime. Even if they present all the recordings in a court of law, Fox has lawyers that will tear holes in those recordings like a black hole. I feel sorry for him for what he went through and that it got to the point he felt no way out but to end his life. When you are in a work environment like that. You just have to walk away. |

That was kinda of my takeaway too. It also seemed like his belief system was such that he thought that if you do the right thing, good will win over evil eventually. I think he underestimated how evil and corrupt corporations and the media really are. He put his heart in soul into trying to report and bring forth the truth and probably finally realized that the world was not what he had always believed it to be. He woke up, but the reality was too much for him to handle perhaps. It is said that a grateful heart never gets depressed. |

"Testing" your co-workers by having someone else write copy for you? That's grounds for dismissal right there. He was obviously very high-strung and felt incredibly entitled, or maybe it would be accurate to say that he was so unbelievably naive to think that everyone at work is supposed to play nice and not be "bullies" (srsly?) that he completely went off the rails when he realized that just because he thinks he's a perfect employee, that his life should be all sunshine and roses. I found that first video to be really unsettling because I know someone who sounds/acts exactly like him. A friend of mine is very high-strung and takes extreme offense at work if anyone ever corrects his work or scolds him in any way. He's very much a "rules" person and cites logical fallacies people commit as well as always having to have "proof" of everything. He makes a lot of people uneasy and has actually purposely cut himself at work before. Seems like everybody's on the fuckin' edge lately... |

He had so many other options open to him, he was not trapped there. It is too perfect for an anti-bullying agenda piece. Too choreographed. It has an Oprah/Facebook smell to me. It seems to me that unless you were a witness in person, you have no more authority to say that it was an actual event rather than a media concoction than I do. More correctly, you should say, "I believe that it really happened" I find it hard to believe that all these people have forgotten that this as a media affair.... you know, scripts, green screens, and the like. And I am certain that it was a scripted media presentation for the reason that false, scripted media events are produced all the time too. They are called TV shows, advertisements and movies. They seem so real, but they aren't, as we well know. So why not a scripted media production on the theme you mentioned, in order to reinforce the "bullying" agenda and even take a hit at Fox Media? ************************************************************************ Corruptisima re publica plurimae leges. ~ Terence |

Sure why not? The only hitch is that in this story a "white male" is being bullied and that doesn't fit the anti bullying movement. Now turn it around and make the victim anyone else and this story would be viral. |
