Thank You to all the Unsung Heroes who work every Holiday!
While most people are busy celebrating Christmas with family and friends, let’s not forget to thank the people who never get to celebrate because of the nature of their jobs.

These folks are busy keeping everything running smoothly so the rest of us can enjoy the Holidays.

Thank You to:

Our Military who keep watch so we can sleep soundly in our beds at night
Law Enforcement
Emergency Dispatchers
Fire Department/EMT
Hospital Employees
Airline/Airport Employees/Air Traffic Controllers
Retail Workers
Fast Food Workers
Grocery Store Employees
Network Administrators
Truckers/UPS/FedEx/US Mail/Taxi/Ship Captains/Snow Plow drivers – Anyone involved in transportation
Casino workers
Utility Workers/Power and Water
Nursing Home Employees
Hotel Employees – If it wasn’t for the Inn Keeper walking Mary and Joseph to the stable, Jesus might have been born on the side of the road.
Cell Phone Tower Climbers
Locksmiths
AAA guys
Tow truck Drivers
And lets not forget the GLP Mods!

I’m sure there are many other occupations that I have missed, but I just want to say THANK YOU to the people who keep the train rolling down the tracks for the rest of us over the Holidays!

Give them a BIG Christmas Tip and watch how fast their attitude changes.

It sucks to be in the service industry waiting on people - especially on a holiday when you really want to be with the people you love and care about.

And all of us who do emergency 24-hr service--

Locksmiths
AAA guys
Towtruck drivers

I have gotten calls many times on Thanksgivings, Xmas Eves, Xmas Days, etc. When my phone rings, my whole family goes "Ugghhh…can't you let this one go?" But what if it was your grandmother who was locked out of her house with her Yorkshire yapping away hungry on the other side of the door?

One of the strangest experiences is to walk around town on Christmas morning. Go inside a supermarket, get a coffee in a McDonalds or Starbucks, so on. There's people out there, quite a few actually, but everything is quite, no one's talking and there's hussle or bussle, you almost get a zombie like impression.

Great thread OP! May many blessings come your way simply because you thought of others first. When anybody comes across someone working on a holiday, a simple "thank you for working", goes a long way!

Re: Thank You to all the Unsung Heroes who work every Holiday!
I hope that everyone has the most wonderful Christmas time, enjoy the moment wherever you are, find peace in knowing that whatever task is at hand, that in the end it is in the Creators hands. Let peace wash over you like a flowing wave of energy. May you snuggle beneath the covers tonight and find an inner peace that is greater than any physical gift, or words spoken. I hope you find your favorite Christmas moment placed forever in time and relish that moment as if it is happening to you tonight all over again. Remember the laughter, and the joy of loved ones, and take heart in the most simple of comforts as a blessing that others might not even have.

Godbless you all, and to all a good night.

Thank you to the Peacekeepers
Thank you to the truth tellers
thank you to the watchmen
thank you to the inventors who wish to make life better for humanity
thank you to the individual who is strong enough to stand on his own, and then give back to others
thank you to men who dream of total freedom
thank you to men who fight for right, justice and not blindly follow laws of men
thank you to those who have compassion, the artists that bring color, and creativity to an otherwise colorless world

Godbless you all.

Done!! My husband and I had our 1st Annual Christmas Eve lunch at a nice place with a great wait person. He was cheerful and energetic and professional. Our bill was $37 and left a $50 tip. It felt great. Well, the Martini probably helped!!

Merry Christmas!!

Lets hope that you don't have a car accident, have your cel phone stolen, your house broken into, get stabbed or shot in a brawl because those "Pigs" will be the first people you call for help.

Yes, Police are unsung heroes too for working on the Holidays. They would much rather be home with their families or hanging out posting on GLP just like you.

God Bless you and Merry Christmas.

Thank You!

All of my immediate family work in the Hotel/Hospitality industry. We have not been able to spend a single holiday together in years because Hotels never close their doors.

This year, the first weekend in December, we celebrated "Thanksbirmass". It was a Thanksgiving, Birthdays and Christmas all wrapped into one. It was so much fun, we might make it a family tradition. LOL

Thank you so much for the appreciation! I've been a flight attendant for 12 years. My last Christmas at home was in 2002. I don't mind anymore, but its nice when people acknowledge the fact that you gave up your family time so they could enjoy their families. Merry Christmas!
