Crackers use to be shipped in barrels.

Black friend/coworker and I were out of town on a job.

Looking for a place for lunch I spotted a Cracker Barrel and suggested it as a good place to eat.

He looked at me with a funny grin then said in a serious voice "I never considered going in there"

I said why and he just stare at me like "come on dummy you can figure it out."

It finally hit me we both laughed and stopped anyway.

Now he loves it and we go when we are together at lunch time.

We even joked about opening up a place called N.... Box but decided America was still not ready for that !

If you can box wine, you can barrel crackers.

I hated the name of it and never stepped foot in one for over half my life. Now I love it.

Pickle barrel.

Flour sacks. Flour in sacks made of printed muslin fabric that was made into clothing.

Cracker Barrel is too salty.

There used to be a fishing lure that consisted of a negro man in bathing in a barrel. It was spring loaded so When you pulled the line the naked negro would come out of the barrel and the lure made a disturbance on the top of the water , and then the little man would be pulled back into the barrel when tension was released(it floated). The funny thing about it was how well it worked, bass would try to murder it and hit it so violently it was kind of scary fishing with it. Of course the PC people would never allow such a thing to be sold today.
