She was getting her PhD and went femminazi on me and I went feral learning the old ways. Hunting, fishing, blah blah.

Moved overseas with no money. Just sailing. All Southern hemisphere now living in Hawaii.

Cracker Barrel was a fun outing as a kid.

Looking around the gift shop before your meal. The wonderful smells permeating the room.

Playing with the table top game. Making fun of your siblings if they wound up Ignamarooses.

Getting your yummy platter of food.

I always enjoyed the chicken and dumplings or chicken fried steak with sawmill gravy.

Always had to get fried okra and hashbrown casserole as sides.

End the experience with a purchase of some candy from the gift shop.

This was early-mid 90s.

Have heard the quality of the experience has gone down since then.

But I'm a kick ass chef and can cook all those dishes now. Never eat out. Just don't trust it.
