I don't care how much you prepare, there are going to be thousands who didn't. Quoting: RantProne If you were one to announce your "prepping" habits to those around you, you might want to store up a lot of ammo as well, unless you plan to feed a lot of pissed off starving people. Sharing tips of survival is one thing. But you might want to keep your stockpile inventory to yourself, if you plan on it lasting any length of time. Let's hope it doesn't come to that. Agreed. I just thought it was strange that this is now going main stream. It is strange. Thanks for posting this. |

And we all know where hope gets us sometimes. You cannot dismiss the fact that people are a bit un-nerved lately with all the potential 'doom' scenarios. Food is a basic need, and provides security for people. So does water, and things that go 'boom'. Pay attention. Self Reliance is the name of the game in this world now, and you have a chance to be self reliant. DHS didn't buy up all those billions of rounds of ammo so they can sit on them. I have frequent blackouts in my area because of tall trees and strong winds, but I only keep a coupla weeks of supplies. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 50435732 Prepping is bullshit, ok if you enjoy the hobby/skills aspect but don't give them your money. Your Stupid. Just my opionion for thinking being prepared is stupid. A couple of weeks you will use in a week. Your idea of being prepared is probabl not at all. Sheep! just get bulk beans rice and such 25-50lb. easy and cheap. learn to hunt fish trap and grow food. forgotten skill we all need to acquire again and youll have a good time doing it, will give you a sense of self worth. when the shit hits the fan,, all those squirrels to hunt will be quickly gone,, that is not a dependable statement unless you live in a forest…..where there is game and still it won't last long. there is no place to hunt or fish where I live anyway…. I discovered beans can get old and will not cook up well…. so I canned my prep….. and now I don't need water and heat when the time comes to prepare it. I probably have about 6 weeks of water plus any I can catch off my roof should it rain or snow. I have more than 2 months of food. and at least that much of energy to provide some heat and cooking. That's what I thought, where are you going to do this hunting and trapping? Unless you are going to hunt dogs and cats, there's not much animal life in most cities, where most people live. The government or the states own most of the woods and they don't like people willy-nilly going out there to hunt. Farm and pasture land is already owned by people who really do not welcome herds of strangers coming in shooting all over the place. I think that freeze dried meat is a better option for long term, frozen for short term. Sounds like you have a good plan going for you. Good job! |
