Quoting: Anonymous Coward 10246824 Hang in there AC, stay strong and positive. My Mom had cervical and uterine cancer. Spread to lymph nodes as well...they caught it late. She is now 11 years cancer free. Prayers for you and your Mom! |

Went to visit my mom today. She made it all better. Quoting: j994k My mom is awesome. She is a card carrying Mensa genius. A little psychic.(she reads cards) She taught herself to play the piano, 12 string acoustic guitar, and computers. She is recently retired. My mom taught me how to survive off the land. Alternatives to modern medicine, and how to think for myself. Mom and Dad have been marred for 40 years, and dad has taught me a lot, but at 37 years old when life gets hard mom is the one I can talk things out with. She made it all better today. I wouldn't say that I'm a mamas boy, but shit piled up and I was stressing. I hung out with mom all day and things are in a different perspective now. My mom is bad ass. I love my mom. She is awesome. I'm just saying....... Gotta Love Moms |

I have a great relationship with all of my kids (all grown). Your mom did a good job! You should show her your thread, she would be happy to see it. ..."The soul is dyed the color of its thoughts. I have an extremely warped sense of humor (I am a warped person). OP I lost my mom a little over 8 years ago and not a day goes by that I don't think of her. She was one of the funniest, most caring people I've ever met. She had a hard life but fought to the end and always had a positive attitude. She taught me so much about being a good person. I fall short of the mark sometimes but I try.... Last Edited by geminilion on 01/11/2013 03:03 AM ..."The soul is dyed the color of its thoughts. User ID: 12895036 United States 01/11/2013 03:06 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My mom is my best friend OP. Loving, caring, loyal and always there for me, but never gives advice cause she knows people can figure things out on their own. After dad died, she married a very manipulative, controlling bully of a man who pushed us all away from her. Now she has cancer with home hospice...and we're not allowed to visit cause he wants his privacy (and her finances) to himself. A horrible way for such a great woman who loves her kids so much to spend the rest of her days. I miss her so much. Love your moms while you have them. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30600228 I am so sorry to hear that! Don't you have any rights at all as her child to see her? That would upset me to no end, there's no way I would let anyone keep me away from my dying mother. Please try to see her.....hugs. ..."The soul is dyed the color of its thoughts. She's survived being burned almost to death, cervical cancer and brain cancer. She's the toughest old lady I know. She's been an excellent wife for 48 yrs, she raised us right, she's always been loving and doting and still is to this day..even though she feels like hell. Mama always tries to take care of me. :) She babies me. :) Best woman I know. I worship her. She's my best pal. And the LORD spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin, then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it. I am an evil giraffe, and I shall eat more leaves from this tree than perhaps I should, so that other giraffes may die. |

Quoting: oh_yikes She is a great lady, very kind and loving, but we don't have the relationship you and your mom do. I don't share problems or look to her for advice, really. We are pretty detached from each other in that way. I'm sorry. Moms are the shit. What happened? Nothing happened, exactly. She was raised in an orphanage....just never learned the touchy-feely stuff, I guess. She is a kind and caring person, but we don't have the closeness that you are lucky enough to share with your mom. Mom showed me how to show feelings. We don't hug except at holidays, but we say what is on our minds. You can always reconnect no? You should give your mum a big hug whenever you can. She will like that. Also when your mum isn't there you will wonder about all the times you were an ass to her. I know because I have been there. I only wish I could see her again. I hope I can. Also take some videos and sound recording of her so you can remember her when you are older. To write about your mum saying she is awesome shows she really is a special mum. |

But if we insist on seeing her....he will take his frustrations out on her, being rough with her and yelling at her. She's so fragile right now we don't want him to hurt or upset her. But thanks for the hug....it hasn't been easy. |
