It's hard to hold any sympathy for a fallen police officer now, since so many have abused and murdered people without cause.

Worse, because they lie about it, the numbers may be far worse than we're told.

It's sad, because the idea is a good one. Some people risking it all to save the others...

But it has been corrupted and turned into a license to commit crimes instead.

I don't want anyone to be harmed, but the change clearly needs to come from the institution of policing right now.

1. Punish lawbreakers, even if they wear blue.

2. Don't arm the police better than the average citizen, so that the common man can fight them, if the need arises.

3. Don't assume the innocence of a cop accused of a crime.

Only when these things become reality will the situation change for the better. Right now...

Expect more police to die. People have been pushed too far for too long and it's starting to show.

We need to stop violence, not promote it.

this happened two miles from my home. in fact, our karate school closed early tonight because of police activity all around it.
had to lock down the school because the perp was still loose somewhere.

anyway, this cop served two tours in middle east.

he was to turn 35 tomorrow.

he has 1 young child now and his wife is 3 months pregnant.

he is a person, have some respect.

i got news for you cynical cop hating assholes, if this guy responded to your 911 call and saved your life from an intruder or the life of your kid or relative by administering CPR, you would look upon this cop with big teary doe eyes and would see him as your hero.

If an intruder enters my home I won't be calling 911 until the action is over. As soon as I get off the phone with them I'll be calling in one of those emergency carpet cleaning companies.

I know CPR and so does my wife. See there. I don't need police for much at all.

only 10%, maybe 20%? well, that makes it OK then. it means the NYPD only has between 3,000 and 6,000 corrupt "cops" on the force with almost equal amounts in LA and Chicago.
