Only in Alabama - Roosters Thrown From Vehicle During Police Pursuit

Several roosters thrown from a vehicle during a police pursuit were killed on the interstate early Monday morning.

Two Louisiana men in led law enforcement officers on a chase that started near the Skyland Boulevard exit of the interstate and ended at T.Y. Rogers Jr. Avenue and 22nd Street, said Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Lt. Andy Norris.

Authorities recovered 54 roosters from the SUV and some that were found in a box on the side of the interstate. The 38 surviving roosters were taken to Metro Animal Shelter, Norris said.
