Best way to unclog bathroom drain?

Poop works great I heard. It has acids inside of it that will eat up any clog.

depends on what it is...I puked in the shower the other day and one pump with a plunger worked like magic.

a "snake" is a tool you can buy cheeply enough at your local hardware place. It is the best way to get the hair out of that drain you wilderbeast.

If its that clogged it might have a problem under the ground perhaps get a camera inspection of it? Or hire your own inspection camera?
You should be able to unscrew the grate to get something in it?

most of the time is semen caked pubes get stuck on the drain and create a massive blockage, have you tried to remove the drain cover?? that usually is where the clog is when its semen coated pubes.

Go to a good Menards or Home Depot. Usually they have a "major" one for every county that acts as a distribution store. They usually carry these heavy duty drain cleaners that are sealed in plastic bags and labelled poison. They contain sulfuric acid and other dangerous chemicals and they're almost double the price of Draino Max. Get a small bottle, they recommend just using a cap full of the fluid to unclog your drain because it is so strong. You also have to make sure that the room is well ventilated, less you want to inhale poisonous fumes.

send a bunch of boiling water down ... , sounds like your about to have a main sewer line clog which will back up the sewer into your sinks and tubs. you might want to have your mainline serviced, this is usually an annual service call for most homeowners to keep everything working normally.

Yeah, the drain hole grate. The screw is stripped and the grate cover is like glued in. Can't get anything in there to lift it up.

Years ago, when my washing machine was draining, the water came up and out of the toilet nearest to the laundry room, and water was all over the floor. I called a friend, who was a plumber.

He suspected that roots from trees, growing on my front lawn, had invaded the sewer pipe on my property, and water could not drain properly.

He fed the plumbers "snake" down into the toilet, which was at the main floor level, and pulled tree roots up and out. This happened one more time, and then I became wise, went to Lowe's or Home Depot, and bought copper sulfate granules, sold specifically for this problem. It's sold in a plastic container....about the size of a quart, in the plumbing section of the store.

When I first started using the product, several years ago, a container was about $7.00. Now it's about $12.00, but well worth it. I usually use it about once a year. Cheaper than a plumber's fee!

Though idk if theres a way to prevent a drain from getting clogged, hair, shampoo and whatever clogs it up will still go down there.

i unstopped a vicious kitchen sink clog by pouring boiling water down it a couple times, then about 2 cups of bleach. let that sit awhile and did the boiling water thing and bleach again.

lots of good advice....if its the shower drain, hair is the issue like another poster said and a coat hanger is your only real remedy. otherwise, cheap fix...vinegar and baking soda.
