Quoting: Helios Maximus Something fishy is going on between NASA, ESA, NOAA and the Pentagon in my humble opinion. The main purpose of the SoHO and STEREO coronagraphs is to monitor coronal ejections and to act as an EARLY WARNING SYSTEM in advance of spaceweather events which may endanger satellites, astronauts, communications or the power grids. Why in heaven's name would they tamp down on scientific data when it's needed most?! SoHO still has a huge data gap beginning at the time of the M5 flare (7 hours missing!). STEREO, which had only 3 frames of cor 2 images yesterday, has only 6 frames today-- also stopping at the time of the M5 flare. How can this be??? Are they funneling this info to the Pentagon/Space Force in secret for some nefarious plot?? My spidey sense tells me so. A major geomagnetic storm would be the perfect cover for a plan to attack foreign satellites with DEW weapons or to cyber attack a power grid and blame it on the sun. THE ULTIMATE FALSE FLAG.....SOL INTERRUPTUS. The question is 'Who's the target?'. Is it RUSSIA, or maybe China, or maybe the U.S., or is it the whole planet? After 9/11 and the Scamdemic paranoia you can just let your imagination go wild. This may be just a drill in rehearsal for a really huge X-flare CME to come. Due to relativistic effects and 'super-elastic' collisions no one on Earth could predict what will happen. We could have a bumpy minor (G1-G2) storm lasting for days OR we might have a Strong super sub-storm (G4-5) which could fry satellites and cause a few grid blackouts (in the North or South polar regions). Nobody knows..... NOAA/SWPC Forecast- Geospace .24 hr Summary... The geomagnetic field was at quiet levels. .Forecast... An increase to active levels is expected, with G1 (Minor) geomagnetic storm conditions likely on 17 Aug as a recurrent, negative polarity CH HSS becomes geoeffective. By early on 18 Aug, the CH HSS is expected to couple with the anticipated arrival of the 14-15 Aug CMEs, likely increasing activity to G3 (Strong) geomagnetic storm levels. Will CMEs become 'classified-top-secret' information soon? # Prepared by the U.S. Dept. of Commerce, NOAA, Space Weather Prediction Center # Solar Activity .24 hr Summary... Solar activity reached high levels following an impulsive M5.0 flare (R2-Moderate radio blackout) at 16/0758 UTC from Region 3078 (S23W18, Dao/beta-gamma-delta). Coronagraph imagery of the associated CME suggests it likely has an Earth-directed component that is anticipated to pass by Earth late on 18 Aug/early on 19 Aug. This region was also responsible for another impulsive M1 flare at 16/2121 UTC, as well as a multitude of C-class flares, and continued to be the most magnetically complex spot group on the visible disk. Region 3079 (S11W66, Cao/beta) appeared to show signs of minor leader spot redevelopment as it approached the western limb. It was responsible for a C1 at 16/0340 UTC, but appeared to stabilize and become less active as it approached the limb.
