Can't imagine having to deal with that amount of snow. Last winter in Dallas, Texas, we got hit by a foot of heavy snow within 24 hours. By the end of the day when people were getting home from work, the snow was too deep on the driveway for most people to be able to get the cars on it. Lol. Most people just left cars parked halfway into driveway and halfway into street. It was a new record for the amount of snow in a day. It was awesome. Just a pain to get around esp when you have to pick up a kid from school! I was shocked that they did not cancel school. They always do when it snows an inch or so! Crazy.

Aren't they used to that kind of weather?

It is the north.

I mean that is a huge amount of snow. But they expect things like this every winter don't they?

I live in Michigan, we always expect massive amounts.

Good that you got the lot of it away though. That stuff can pile up quickly.

Most of the now hits south of the city. There, its not much of a big deal.
When you get 3 ft in 24hrs it takes a few days to clear.

Really though. In Nove Scotia a few years back, we got a meter of snow in 24 hours. It shut the entire province down and took me two days to shovel myself out. I had to crawl through my front window to dig myself out to the door! We called it White Juan after the hurricane we had earlier in the year. Believe me, the only ones who had fun were the kids...

sympathies from one who's been through this.....

Cheers!

Everyone is dug out. They have been removing the piles of snow by the truck load. Getting ready for the next storm. Which looks like it will be Sunday.

Yikes, more snow??? smiley_5

I love your avatar Hickory!

Sorry but do Norherner in the snow belt have two sets of tires? I do not understand 'snow tires' and the rush to the tire store.

I did.
I'm in Jersey, in Monmouth County and while Buffalo was getting pelted... we got flurries.

I don't like that forecast for Sunday. I'm supposed to head up to Newark that day and it says 90% chance of snow.

Ridiculous. I hope it's not THAT bad.

I really enjoy looking at pictures of heavy snow, especially since I'll be back in the 70's on Saturday.
