Buffalo NY.........Finally dug out the Inlaws. Pictures included

We live in the Syracuse area... Looks like you all got a big jump on the Snowball award this year!!! I always hate a big storm this early in the season, it seems like as soon as you get done moving all the snow around it melts and makes a freakin mess...

Fucking hell, 10 inches of snow hits most of the UK and the schools and airports close and the entire country panics.



People that live in the snow belts on the great lakes can handle it, and it could be sunny in down town Buffalo or any other city near the belt and 10 miles away can get like 200 inches of snow and you drive 30 miles through it and it is sunny again... used to live up that way and love the lake effect.

Dont clear off the car... just wrap some Christmas lights around it and walla!

Mid, WI and the snow missed us this time. I'm ready for it!!

That is a lot of snow! I have not seen white mounds like those since my childhood.
Your inlaws are really lucky to have you and your husband living near by, or close enough to be able to help.

Looks like what we got here in nw va. twice last winter.I thought that shit would never melt.I hope we don't get that much or more this winter.

I live in Blasdell and work in Hamburg...I am already sick of the snow....but my son is loving it. Our plow guy piled the snow up to make a little mountain for the kids to play on. I just don't know where the snow is gonna go once we get more. There is just no room.

Wow. And that snow you guys get back east is usually wet and heavy as heck.

We get lots of snow in central and northern Idaho, but it is usually light powdery stuff. My snoblower can blow that light stuff clear out into the pasture.

One person was saying the went to the Galeria Mall shopping. Geez..... people new we where going to get a lot of snow.

I'm just on the other side of the border - 20 mins north of Buffalo.

No snow here but I heard about the big dump on the radio that morning.



People went around thruway closed signs and got stuck.

I mean that is a huge amount of snow. But they expect things like this every winter don't they?

Most of the now hits south of the city. There, its not much of a big deal.
When you get 3 ft in 24hrs it takes a few days to clear.

Really though. In Nove Scotia a few years back, we got a meter of snow in 24 hours. It shut the entire province down and took me two days to shovel myself out. I had to crawl through my front window to dig myself out to the door! We called it White Juan after the hurricane we had earlier in the year. Believe me, the only ones who had fun were the kids...

Everyone is dug out. They have been removing the piles of snow by the truck load. Getting ready for the next storm. Which looks like it will be Sunday.
