Less sunlight in North America during the winter months, so less chance to get out and sunbathe. Vitamin D is best absorbed through the skin from 12-2 pm (I think) with minimal covering....hard to do during the winter in Kansas. Why not spend a few bucks a month and possibly make a difference between getting sick and not getting sick? |

I imagine the $10-$20 a month I'm going to spend will end up being a bit cheaper than picking up and moving. |

Quoting: Haile MenelikLike anything else you don't want to OD, but 2500 IU is a good level for adults. The recommended 500 IU will more than likely increase after recent studies. Not a bad idea to take D3 several hours before or after a high fiber meal as that can cause you to absorb less of it, just like any vitamins. |
