YOM KIPPUR (DAY OF ATONEMENT)

The seven days leading into Yom Kippur would be key if there is to be any leading sign.

What we have to keep in mind is this is an annual thing and while we watch with each passing year, we should see events leading to it as early as 40 days before. I don't see the pattern I am looking for that would indicate this is the ONE for which we wait, but I will reserve my opinion until after the passing of Rosh Hashanah.

Rabbi Elazar begins by talking about Rosh Hashanah, Judgment Day.


This is the day the Bible refers to by “In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall you have a sabbath, a day of remembrance of blowing of horns, a holy gathering.”


He says there are messengers who are appointed by God to watch over the actions of people, and at Judgment Day these messengers accuse those whose actions were improper. When people sin, they weaken ELOHE”M (manifestation of God in nature), but when they perform good actions they give might and power to Him.

well you never quiet know.. what day does rosh hashanah actually fall on by the way? because what ever is happening will happen soon as i feel like we are here on borrowed time at this point.. everything is strange these days and it will all come to a massive conclusion real soon..

yeah well see. i know there is a big meeting talking about irans nucular program on the oct 1, 2009.


even though im not 100% jewish ill still honor that day and ask for the repentance of my sins. i should do that everyday BTW.

NEVE SHALOM/WAHAT AL-SALAM, Israel — This year’s convergence of the Jewish New Year called Rosh Hashana and the first day of the Muslim holy month of fasting and introspection called Ramadan is a coincidence that interfaith leaders here hope to exploit to promote a message of tolerance and coexistence.

Both holy days began Monday night — for Jews at sundown, and for Muslims with the sighting of the first sliver of the new moon in the Middle East sky.

The three-times-a-century coming together of the Muslim and Jewish lunar calendars won’t happen again for 33 years.

"When the holidays come out together, it helps integrate lessons about living together," said Bernadette Layous, a second grade teacher at this cooperative village of Jewish and Arab Israelis set on a hilltop overlooking bucolic farm fields about midway between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.
