Galactic Superwaves / Paul LaViolette - Fact or Fiction?!?
Paul LaViolette theorizes that intense cosmic ray winds (galactic superwaves)arriving from the galactic centre along with cosmic dust are altering the world climate and causing volcanic eruptions and earthquakes.

Itīs predicted by ancient cultures because itīs cyclical. Thereīs so much time in between that it takes on the word of God in these old cultures.

For the last hundred years we had global dimming. Google Global Dimming.

Now Global Dimming has stopped because the sun is acting up from the influx of so much cosmic dust.

or read his book Earth Under Fire

FACT OR FICTION??

Anyone care to try and debunk this theory?

op...excellent. no de-bunking here.
also the galactic sun is affecting our realm.
and yes I do believe it is cyclic.

Why bother? What good would it do? What good does it do to "debunk" any of the bizarre fantasies that fascinate the nuts so much?

Re: Galactic Superwaves / Paul LaViolette - Fact or Fiction?!?
This is the truth. Dr LaViolette has based on extensive research.

You will not find any proof otherwise. This is one of the most important books ever written. Although it would take a team of very independent-minded scientists from at least a dozen different disciplines to make a solid assessment of the various novel claims & interpretations made here, LaVioletteīs theory does what all good new theories do: it takes a variety of disparate, previously neglected or unaccounted for facts and weaves them into a new perspective in which they fit together seamlessly like pieces of a puzzle. LaViolette proposes a new version of quantum mechanics which applies nonlinear dynamical ideas from Prigogine to the long-neglected, but never disproven, notion of the ether. LaViolette says this model predicts that the galactic core is not a blackhole but a supermassive energy object which explodes (or beats like a heart?) periodically. This pulsation sends out a wave of cosmic rays which then fill the solar system with interstellar gas, occluding sunlight, and increasing solar flare activity. LaViolette builds on recent work by Graham Hancock, Robert Bauval, John Anthony West, et al., and argues that the sphinx/pyramid complex, the zodiac and the tarot were all time capsule messages to future generations about the last time this event hit earth, with catastrophic consequences (about 13,000 years ago). If the indications from the Mayan calendar are correct, another such wave may be incoming around 2012 AD. That gives us fourteen years to prepare, if these numbers handed down from ancient astronomers, and polar ice core samples, are anything to go by. While the central hypothesis, and the various interpretations that follow from it, are highly unorthodox, there is next to nothing of the flaky fringe science/UFOlogy/New Age vibe in this book. And LaVioletteīs astronimcally based deciphering of the sphinx/zodiac "cryptogram" provides further evidence that there was indeed a technically advanced civilization on earth ("Atlantis") which appears to have been largely extinguished by the proposed īsuperwaveī catastrophe, which also brought the last ice age to an end. We can only hope LaViolette is wrong, or if he is right, that we are in the 26,000 year lull between superwaves, rather than the 13,000 year half cycle. If the latter, the information contained in this book should be broadcast globally, with international interdisciplinary conferences convened immediately. Letīs hope LaViolette is completely wrong.

Like many crackpots, LaViolette isnīt satisfied with making a major contribution in one field. He has to revolutionize a number of unrelated fields.

and have no problem with people hearing voices i just donīt rest well with military minded people

"After I made my discovery [about the galactic-core explosion]," LaViolette says, "I had a dream in
which I met with people: I donīt know if they were extraterrestrials or advanced spiritual beings. In this dream, I was given a medal; they were awarding me for making this discovery. On their level, this was a major event: Terrestrials had finally found proof of this cosmic event so important that it has decimated the civilization before....They were very wise. You just had extreme respect for them. They were extremely mature beings—old souls. I donīt know if they were real or not, but when youīre doing work like I do, where youīre operating outside of the envelope, you need something to keep you going."

Re: Galactic Superwaves / Paul LaViolette - Fact or Fiction?!?
La Violette does what a lot of hucksters do. He melds astrology with astronomy.

Admittedly, astronomy was once astrology, but in modern times science saw fit to seperate the two. La Violette has simply amalgamated them again.

Having said that I suspect there is some credibilty to La Violetteīs science.

Ordo Ab Chaos is chiefly a cosmic axiom and not a social slogan. Cosmic chaos is cyclical. I suspect the cosmic rays excite the Sun to an electronics storm which, in turn, excites all the planets in its capture, heating them up.

The Sun will switch off...then back on. The planets wander off their courses, but Earth does not. It rolls over to a new spin axis.

This is merely the start of a period of cosmic chaos that reaches a crescendo when 2 large celestial objects electrically collide with Earth altering its geology and orbit.

Chaos is disorder; it will be observable. It subsides and order resumes; that too will be observable.

Thatīs mostly my exact post that you cut and pasted! I wrote it as an ac but so what, that was rude of you not to say you lifted it from another post or at least put it into quotations.

Re: Galactic Superwaves / Paul LaViolette - Fact or Fiction?!?
stupid human tricks

An interesting question arises from many skeptics concerning why chaos has just recently been noticed. If chaotic systems are so mandatory to our every day life, how come mathematicians have not studied chaos theory earlier? The answer can be given in one word: computers. The calculations involved in studying chaos are repetitive, boring and number in the millions. No human is stupid enough to endure the boredom; however, a computer is always up to the challenge. Computers have always been known for their excellence at mindless repetition; hence, the computer is our telescope when studying chaos. For, without a doubt, one cannot really explore chaos without a computer.
Before advancing into the more precocious and advanced areas of chaos, it is necessary to touch on the basic principle that adequately describes chaos theory, the Butterfly Effect. The Butterfly Effect was vaguely understood centuries ago and is still satisfactorily portrayed in folklore:

"For want of a nail, the shoe was lost;
For want of a shoe, the horse was lost;
For want of a horse, the rider was lost;
For want of a rider, a message was lost;
For want of a message the battle was lost;
For want of a battle, the kingdom was lost!"

"...the ancient condition of chaos also begins to assert its sway. At last, as this cosmic era draws to its close, this disorder comes to a head. The few good things it produces it corrupts with so gross a taint of evil that it hovers on the very brink of destruction, both of itself (the universe)and the creatures in it." Sorry about that Cecelia. I thought that any post from an AC did not require quotations.

Do you have any resources on the web that backup the theories of LaViolette?

ACs are people too, lol.

Hereīs LaVioletteīs predictions from his book that have subsequently been proven to be true:
