Superwave effects according to Dr Paul LaViolette are due March-April 2014 Fact or Fantasy?

Dr Paul LaViolette, is the proponent of the Superwave Theory or shock wave caused by the ingestion of a large cosmic dust cloud called G2. This he expects to cause anything from a small light show up to an extinction level event !!! G2 was ingested by the center of our Milky-way Galaxy 23,000 years ago . . . the central "black hole" is called Sag A . Dr LaViolette is not at credentialed astronomer but is published. Are his theories Fact or Fantasy?
