Maybe its a sign that the Christian religion has become demonic and God is pulling his children away from its evils?

Well these days it covers Egyptian paganism, the Astarte group, amorphous pagans who are just playing as well as the weird semi-Christian groups.

I would assume Islam is going to be the winner here as they seem more determined and coherent.

In any case they are not all the same.

Re: The federalist: Americas stunning embrace of paganism signals the end of this country as we know it
The Christian god and the set of values and morals associated are wonderful for civilized, homogeneous societies.

However, those times are over. With conflict so often near and with so much exposure to people who do not follow social norms, older ideals have more merit.

To take part of the old Scandinavian morality as an example: Avenging your family members, either by action against the perpetrator or the perpetrator's family. In a functional civilized world, this creates unnecessary feuds and messes. It undermines government justice, which insists upon being the only source of justice in this life. However, now that the justice system isn't there to give justice anymore, a pagan value set compelling you to avenge your slain sister or daughter or whatever would serve to by a sloppy but functional justice and discipline system in place. It teaches the barbarians and makes the world more stable.

Paganism isn't a signal of the end, it is a signal the end has already been passed.

This depicts the human sacrifice the Christians revere and claim to benefit from, right?

You're speaking like a pagan, obsessed with materialism and what the world likes. What if the Muslims are wrong and the Christian God, Jesus Christ, is the One True God. Then it doesn't matter what the world sees as strong or weak. What matters is if you worship God. God will prevail. What so many Christians get wrong is they don't keep the Commandments. They fail because they go against God, not because their God is weak.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 86881475

So the Crusaders were wrong to spread Christianity by the sword?

Charlemagne was wrong to forcibly convert the Saxons?

Constantine was wrong to conquer by the sign of the cross?

Egypt was once Christian. So was Lebanon and Syria, Iraq, North Africa, and Turkey.

The sword of Charlemagne changed the fate of Europe, and the sword of Islam changed the fate of the Middle East.

You speak like a priest or a monk and we need warriors.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 58236540

They didnt spread christanity by the sword, you cant become a christian by force. The crusades and Charlemagne fought defensive wars against islamic attempts to colonize the christian world, theres absolutely nothing wrong with that. Charlemagnes wars had nothing to do with christainity other than this supposed sign and he evidently wasnt even a true christian based on what history tells us, he was for example baptised by an arian and had emperors after him that denied the Holy Trinity.

But thanks to them, the worst percecution stopped where as eastern christians suffered trough one of the worst genocides in recorded history under islam which was taken to the extreme in islamic india, and we dont have to suffer trough this today, christians for example abolished slavery world wide, started the scientific revolution which birted the industrial revolution, came up with magna carta and a just legal system they spread around the world etc instead of this, the darkness of islam:

You all lost me in your Christian mega churches with your zumba black singers, clergy and congregations.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 83324543

Just because something calls itself Christian doesn't mean that it is Christian. Like a man calling himself a woman doesn't make him a woman.

The mega churches deceive the unwary. Likewise churches with female pastors, gay pastors, t*ans pastors, divorced pastors, and prosperity pastors cannot be trusted.

The Catholic church is the beast, yet it claims to represent God. Another grand deception.

You either stand by every word of God as revealed in the Bible or you're preaching another gospel.

Don't base your understanding of Christianity on these churches which are whited sepulchers. As Jesus said of the Pharisees

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchers, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.

Re: The federalist: Americas stunning embrace of paganism signals the end of this country as we know it
I was raised Baptist and went to a Catholic University. I consider myself a Christian, but I have to admit, the memorization of bible versus and using them in every situation is annoying. Really gets under my skin when Christians tell you are going to hell for sinning and try to argue with you with bible versus. The reason is when I was in college the Jesuit Priest told us they don't know 100% who wrote the bible and it was written about 100 years after Jesus died. They studied the written documents, and pieces of it doesn't match the author writing. There are pieces of it that are omitted from the bible. If you study near death experiences they say if you are Muslim Mohammad shows up when you die, if you are Christian Jesus shows up ect... Its like god shows you a representative from what ever religion you were on earth. They say we agreed to come to earth to learn and god is love and light. They say the bible has everything wrong. However, there are some NDE's that say they arrived in hell, one was a priest because he had been telling people they were going to hell for sinning. So I believe in hell but im on the fence over exact wording from the bible so hard core bible thumpers sound nuts to me because they believe every single word like it came directly out of Jesus mouth. I think this is whats happening to the religion. People are just getting to educated to believe every single word in it anymore.
 Quoting: ambermink

Right, but i can tell you that you are not a christian, and you were taught lies by the jesuits.

You are saved by trusting in Jesus Christ when he died for your sins and rose again from the dead on the third day and confess him as Lord. (1 Corinthians 15:1-4, Romans 10:9-10). Then you are born again (John 3:3-8) and sealed with God as Ephesians 1:13-14 says which means nothing will affect your salvation, your entrace to heaven is guaranteed and fully based on what Christ did, not yourself because if we have any part of it, none of us would make it. So sinning wont send you to hell but being a new creature a fruit of you becoming a christian would be that you sin less. And christianity is the ONLY way, all other ways like islam are false and will send you to hell.

The bible was also written long before 100 years after the death of Christ, see for example this:
[link to www.youtube.com (secure)]
[link to www.evidenceunseen.com (secure)]

This is what christians know to be true, none of this describe you. You are whats often called a cultural christian which is like being white, its part of your identity but its not genuine.

You need to repent.

Re: The federalist: Americas stunning embrace of paganism signals the end of this country as we know it
I am not a Christian but I do respect Christians and fully understand the massive contribution that Christianity has made to western thought and development.

That Christianity had a strength and confidence that modern Christianity lacks.

I don't know where I read it but it went along the lines that if modern Christianity was a poison it could harm no one, and if it was a medicine it could heal nothing.

If Christianity isn't willing to fight and assert itself, it will die and nothing of value will have been lost. The value that Christianity historically brought to the table isn't reflected or present in what passes for Christianity in the modern west.

Islam and other faiths believe in themselves and that is something Christianity needs to find again.

As a non-believer I know that there must be some sort of faith to motivate society, and a lack of faith (atheism) brings horror.

So it's Mormonism, Islam, Paganism, or something else, maybe ideology based? I would prefer a re-invigorated Christianity but that would mean abandoning the concept of the Great Care Bear In The Sky and I am not sure modern Christianity will do that.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 58236540

The real Christian looks to Jesus, not any man or AI (since man rejects God, they now give you AI) for salvation.

When Jesus came to Israel, they all thought He was going to free them from the Roman Empire.

This is what ALL other religions apart from Christianity thinks. That God wants to build an earthly nirvana.

It is especially strong in Islam. Islam is enforced abd imposed upon mankind by men, and through PHYSICAL WARFARE.

But in Christianity, the battle is against evil spiritual forces, not any flesh.

All other religions are WORKS-BASED. Only Christianity is not.

Because we are sinners. And nobody is perfect. Jesus was God Himself saving us. If you reject this out of your pride abd ego, you should know the consequence of it.

It is akin to a human telling God, I am not a sinner and I am my own god and my own salvation.

Which clearly isn't the case and EVERY human knows that.

Here is what happens when you remove God: The government becomes the highest authority. In communist hellholes, they carry around pictures of their leader under various pompeus names and worship him like god, like how the final antichrist will demand to be worshipped, because the government replaced God.

The whole christian concept of God given rights in the US constitution is because there is an authority ABOVE the government which we intuitly know is there and which love and cares for all of us and want the best for us. The rule of men, when some pervert want to stick his nose into YOUR life and decide what YOU should do, go against that. Loving your neigbour as christians are commanded to is fighting for your neigbours freedom.

This christian mindset is behind the US constitution and why the US is unique being founded on christian principles from the beginning.

Here is a sermon on this aswell so we can remind ourselves of how our great christian ancestors, even where i live, thought and what they fought for, the freedom we still enjoy didnt come cheap and is as true for today as its ever been:
