There has been some democratic program like that for the last years, I have a friend, a liberal woman, who makes a over hundred bucks a day registering people to vote. It's a part time gig, but I was pretty surprised she was getting paid so well for something that I thought was a volunteer type thing. We live in a red state, and she goes to the worst of the worst neighborhoods signing people up to vote.
