Video Description

Copwatchtv obtained body camera footage of an incident where a man decided to go vape in the airplane's lavatory. Doing so caused the smoke detector to go off and forced the pilots to land the plane in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Sheriff and city police responded to the Santa Fe Regional Airport to board the plane and remove the man. Police interviewed the man and passed the case to the FAA and NTSB. It is unclear what fines he faced.

He must have had one of those "cloud chaser" vapes that clouds out the whole room. He should have used a discreet one that hardly lets out any vapor.

That does seem strange, because it's literally vapor, hence vaping, not smoke.

Maybe he was one of those "cloud chasers"? People who think it's trendy to vape DTL sub-ohm tanks just to produce a lot of vapor. I vape solely for nicotine, so that's more discreet MTL that doesn't emit the innocuously massive vapor clouds for my amusement.

You could smoke freely in cabins even in late 80s. When they stopped that, I would smoke in the bathroom but only about 1/4 cig..the toilets have such massive suction you only need to flush a couple times it takes out all smoke.

I set the alarm off early 2000s on a well-known international line. All that happened was the steward and stewardess came to my seat and asked if i was smoking in the bathroom as the alarm had gone off. I apologized nicely, they said please dont do it again as you might get a fine.

Things have changed.

Good, these vapers just think they can vape anywhere because it's not cigarettes. It's not true.

To be fair that's a VERY old video, guy probably bought some cheap chinese vape. The tech came a long way and is super safe now.

Btw I tried to set off smoke alarms by vaping and never succeeded.

before vaping was popular, i had one of the first ones for a plane ride

i let out just a tiny bit of smoke out of my mouth and the guy sitting next to me moved to a different part of the plane LOL i am not sure what he thought i was doing, but it was funny

Watch the vid above your post. It just happened and the guy stayed on the plane. There’s a cloud of gas coming from the floor. I tried to make a thread and got banned so l put it in this thread instead.

I honestly vape on planes, with mj. While in my seat next to people. Its called ghosting. Hold hold hold. Blow down below the seats nobody knows who did it and disapates with in a sec or 2.
