Rodents are very smart . When i encountered a mole and mouse infestation on a ceiling remodel job i was schooled on their housing abilities .

They had many boroughs to sleep in and more to horde food in.

What was impressive is that each group had area's in the insulation were they defecated only . Even rats , mice , moles and other's instinctively know not to defecate where they live, sleep and eat . Even the aged rodent would leave the nest to go die outside their living quarters .
