It was never about the moon or space it was all about the rockets. The Russians already got the tech they needed and the US was behind. Space race has always been about WAR.

They tried in several countries of which Australia was one of the most eligible to make a full space program.

Thing was there wasn't a country outside the US that had enough gullible people to actually funnel billions of dollars into a program that didn't exist.

Belgium came close at some point too but they forgot they were trying to get to the moon and ended up in a local brewery ran by monks. This was the famous incident of 1964 and they built a monument in Brussels for it. (avion)

When the footage of the men supposedly walking on the moon is sped up to twice the speed, you can see it is all being filmed on Earth. They just slowed down the speed to make it look like they were floating around; more moon like.
