Ron DeSantis and Florida Republicans to make it a felony to knowingly transport an undocumented immigrant, calling it a potentially dangerous infringement on religious liberty. issue is a provision in the bill that would impose, per the legislative text: "criminal penalties for persons who knowingly and willfully violate, or who reasonably should know and who violate, certain provisions relating to the transporting into or within this state, or the concealing, harboring, or shielding from detection, or the attempt thereof, of individuals who entered the United States unlawfully and without inspection by the Federal Government." Violators could be charged with a second-degree felony under the bill, which in Florida is punishable by up to 15 years in prison. The bill is also opposed by the ACLU, with its Florida chapter noting that it could criminalize providing transport or shelter to people "who have lived in Florida for decades and have US-born children." There are around 772,000 undocumented immigrants in Florida, according to the Migration Policy Institute, with roughly half having resided in the United States for more than a decade. So, you can’t give them a ride in your vehicle, but you can hire them to pick your tomatoes? |

In Florida, occasionally you will see buses painted dark green or grey with writing on them for workers to go, you know... work.... all of them "undocumented". Probably the safest way for them to work and get paid. Im all for people coming here to work legally, and the system needs to be overhauled, but literally zero people are implementing real solutions to stop illegal immigration. Its sad for us AND them. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72711464 [link to www.fox35orlando.com (secure)] The legislation lays out examples of what would be considered anti-Semitism, including “making mendacious, dehumanizing, demonizing, or stereotypical allegations” about (Rhymes with shoes) or “the power of (Rhymes with shoes) as a collective,” such as “the myth about a world (Rhymes with shoe) conspiracy or of (Rhymes with shoes) controlling the media, economy, government or other societal institutions.” Desatan is ignoring the constitution and making it illegal to speak the truth |
