I've gotten bogus speeding tickets in western NC that you can't just mail in. You are required to appear in court, *or else*. But lo and behold within 4 days of that ticket being issued about 6 lawyers will have sent you a letter offering to appear on your behalf to save you a trip back to NC to appear. Cops, magistrate, DA, judges...they're all a in on the little family business they've set up. |
