I have some good stories but no one would believe me. That's ok.
Recently I was babysitting my 3 yr old niece and we were sitting in the barn. One of the horses started lipping her hair and she screamed in the shrillest voice "HE'S EATING ME!!!" BUT she made no move to move.
I just lol'ed

Good point. And there aren't any good or bad stories. Just stories. I've wrestled with guilt on some of my stories, but in the end they're all just experiences. As long as we learn from them is the salient point.

I agree. I've had very few experiences that I regret compared to those that I am happy to have had.

Learning is the key.

When I was graduating high school in 1983, I had a friend named Rhonda. Rhonda had a boyfriend that didn't care that much for me, and I felt the same way. He was older than us and had just gotten out of prison for robbery, I think. I did not like him from the first 5 minutes after we met. He was just very cold hearted fellow. Just something off about him. I didn't know then.
We had gotten out of school in late May and graduation was June 6th. So we had a week or 2 off till the ceremony.
One night close to graduation we were hanging out. Me, and Rhonda and her boyfriend. I will call him T1.
He said he was waiting for his 2 other friends to show up and they were going somewhere. To my surprise when his 2 friends showed up one of them was my family's friend. The one I knew T2 had been friends with both my older sisters for many years. He was a good guy. The other guy, R, I had met a couple of times but we weren't very friendly.
Anyway the guys said they were going to the store. Me, being me, said ok cool T2 will you buy me a candy bar? I had already climbed in the car. T2 said, in a most serious voice, to get out of the car immedy.
No you are not going. He was kind of nasty about it. So I did. And called him an asshole. I don't know if Rhonda knew EHERE they going or WHY. But she didn't ask to go.

Those dumbasses drove around that night looking for a store to rob. THEY did rob a store. But it went FAR beyond that.
In the process of robbing the store they shot a customer, who survived, and a store clerk who did not.

I did not know any of this till morn. Lots of my family came from out of state for my graduation and our house was full. At 5 am the SWAT team surrounded our house and almost broke the door down because they thought T2 lived there. He didn't.
My mother was so embarrassed in front of our family.

They caught all 3 and T2 turned state evidence against T1. T1 got convicted with the death penalty and was executed in the early 2000's. T2 did 28 of a 35 yr sentence and I don't know what happened to R.

I never hung out with Rhonda again and the next time I saw her she was a homeless crackhead.

Be careful who you choose for friends.
