My father was an installer for BELL Telecommunications during the 1950's & 1960's when Canada and the US linked the telecom together, he also invented the DDD device for BELL and it brought him great status.

My Father was staying in Montreal at a hotel DT resting up for work and there was a Strip Club and he went and checked it and hooked up with featuring GO GO Dancer and that's my mother. She was a hot ticket back in her day..

My uncle was in the same platoon as my dad during Vietnam. They became good friends and brought my dad home with him while on leave. He introduced my dad to my mom, they hit it off and my mom wrote him letters while he was in Vietnam. They married before his 2nd tour. I was born during his 3rd tour.

My mom actually liked my dads brother first, but it turned out he was gay. Lol.

But here is the funny part.

On my mom and dads first date, they went to the zoo to have a picnic.

My dad trying to be cool, tried to shoosh away the peacocks walking around, he threw a rock at one. He hit it in the head killed it.

My dad killed a peacock at the zoo with a rock in front of my mom on their first date.


My dad was a fucking Neanderthal. Lol.

Mom was going to be deported because her visa was ending. Talked my dad into marrying her so she could stay. He regretted it dearly.

According to my dad, he had a "harem" of women who were after him all the time when he was like 26 - and I'm not gonna lie, he was an attractive Italian guy in northern Minnesota back in the 70's...

but although he liked these women fawning over him, he saw my mom walking through a local club carrying a tray (she was a server) and he was smitten and told everyone around him that he was going to marry her. Specifically he noticed her walking away, her backside is what got him.

They were married 50 years before he passed away.

My Mom was three years younger than my Dad and had a crush on him since she was 12, but didn't know him. In her late teens she called a Taxi, and my Dad was just starting off as a cabbie, as picked her up. She gave him her # and the rest is history.

My dad knocked my mom up and then split, when she gave birth she had 2 babies instead of 1, my dads father made him marry my mother. I was the 3rd child, they stayed married 16 years.

Dad was loitering outside a Planned Parenthood, Mom was tear stricken.

They went to boarding prep schools. Father in one and mother in the other. They met at a mixer.

My grandparents will be the one I share.
Was during WW2. My grandma met him at a dance hall in Orlando. They danced and talk she told him that she was working at a grocery store.
The next day my Grandpa met her at lunch and walked her back to work. He pointed over at the courthouse and asked her what that building was. He was a local so he exactly what it was. She told him it was the courthouse and he said "Ok soon as you get out of work let's get married."
She finished her shift met him there and they got married. They stayed married for 53 years until he passed away.
She passed two years later still very much in love with him.

My grandmother was a 6th grade teacher in Georgia, her daughter (my mom) was in 5th. My dad failed my grandmothers six grade class and got held back to my moms class. 10 years later he showed up to pick her up for a date after they starting sending letters and visiting in college. Almost 40 years later they’re still kicking it.
