Quoting: The Don Of Nantucket I have no idea where price goes from here but my gut tells me nothing but UP! There were a few threads earlier this year where some discussed the price of heating oil being over $5.00 a gallon. I was able to get 150 gallons for $4.46 a gallon. This is in western Pa. So good luck to all Winter is just around the corner. Side note also just got a great deal on 4 new electric blankets...Amazon ...I think like $180 for 4 full size blankets. Again just a reminder cuz if you're like me I find it a whole hell of alot easier to stay cool in the heat. than trying to stay warm in the bitter cold. How long will that last? Natural Gas is sky high right now, I have a feeling there will be some people freezing to death. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 83284091 how long will the 150 gallons last you? size of your home? Well the 150 was added to the 250 I had already in the tanks. So the total 400 gallons should be fine for the whole Winter. But of course that all depends on how cold it gets. 2 story 4 bedroom, old home, mediocre insulation at best. Stay cool out there my friend. Thank you, I am trying. Most vendors don't stock the pellets until October or so. I generally buy a ton at that time, which will almost get us through the cold season. If I had more dry space to store them, I could leverage the 'end of season' sales in the springtime. Pellets don't store well. If they get wet or damp, they are useless.
