That isnt entirely true.

Your skin has pores, and if you have sweat it will dissolve a substance and it will enter through pores. If something is very concentrated it will will make its way through.

The key point is that the concentration has to be very high.



Now certain things can speed up the transdermal transfer.

DMSO will transfer compounds rapidly, at any concentration.

But other things such as alcohols, EDTA and various solvents will also transdermally transfer compounds into the body.
