Chlorine smells when it is still in its' active germ killing form. If you open a bag of pure chlorine crystals (like pool shock for instance) you instantly smell a very strong chlorine smell. Once added to a pool of water it begins reacting with bacteria and other stuff in the water and it slowly oxidizes and changes to a form that has no smell. A pool smells strongest of chlorine when the water is perfectly clean and chlorine has just been added to the water to the proper level. From that point on the chlorine slowly disipates into the air and/or begins oxidizing any contaminates that end up in the water from swimmers and the chlorine smell slowly diminishes. This dynamic is why more chlorine needs to be added to the pool periodically to maintain the recommended levels of free chlorine at all times. Also, public swimming pools usually maintain 3-5ppm of free available chlorine in the water at all times. Chlorine levels in drinking water are considered unsafe for regular drinking above 4ppm, so the EPA has set 4ppm as the max allowable chlorine level for drinking water. Most municipalities gear for somewhere around 2ppm of free chlorine in drinking water, because if they go up to 3ppm or so many epople start smelling in in the water when taking a shower. In other words, public swimming pools almost always have higher chlorine levels than tap water. |

I can’t believe anyone would drink that toxic shit. When I change my water filters for the house the pre micron filter smells like death. Literally. I’ve had to clean up rotting body parts in the desert. The water pipes that feed your home, especially in old cities, are so restricted with sludge and filth that the inside diameter is 10% of what it used to be. They have to add chlorine so you don’t die. And I’m here to tell you that your government will absolutely add other poisons to your water supply. This has been proven with sodium fluoride (active ingredient in cockroach pesticide) which does absolutely nothing for your teeth. As a human your top priority should be protecting your family from tap water exposure. |

And then there's the fact that not all Doctors graduated at the top of their class, something those like the AC seem to have forgotten. |

They add chlorine to the water because the pipes are old and dirty and the chlorine kills off bacteria in the water. Just get a water filter and leave the filtered water alone for a day before you drink it. |

The Alexapure filter can eliminate up to 99.99% of all contaminants, higher than any other water filtration system on the market. This filtration includes all types of unwanted contaminants including fluoride, chlorine, lead, bacteria, and E. Coli. |

Try Chloramine, which is Chlorine mixed with Ammonia. Most water companies use Chloramine now and it's not good for you at all and water filters don't remove it unless you pay like $1,200 for a filter system |
