-if China or any country goes gold/silver why wouldn't they buy every bit of gold and silver on the markets? it's out there for sale? the day this happens gold/silver are no longer "commodities", if china goes gold/silver anybody in china can go online and buy knowing they can trade it for their currency.

Paper and physical markets disappear, gold/silver mines nationalized, physical price would skyrocket.

if any country went to gold/silver backed currency it would destroy both the paper and physical markets throughout the world, people from that country can buy anywhere they want and bring it to their country also their gov't would buy it in massive bulk, they would eventually corner the entire market

Does that mean they want their money back that already bought the paper gold? Who's going to give them their money back? Why do I feel a banking holiday coming up? What if they want physical gold? This is going to get interesting.
