paper demand was removed from the market, physical will go up, your average chinamen has the ability to buy gold/silver online like must of us, if their banks remove paper trade retail physcial in china may skyrocket. this looks like the process of going to gold/silver backed currency by killing off the paper speculating

if you can't trade paper metals anymore, and still want metals, you have to purchase physical. that means physical prices will be forced up, until governments ban owning it.

Will it really though? Don't the banks and governments have stockpiles of real physical gold and silver themselves?

They may just be preparing to collapse and write off paper gold and silver. Anyone holding that will get the shaft, including financial investment funds, retirements. etc, but at the same time it seems like it would shoot the value of physical gold through the roof. Like a the last round in a game of poker and it's time to show the cards. Winners take all.

If anyone that traded paper wanted physical gold or silver they could have bought it anytime.

As far as a physical rally? I don't see it. This won't make any difference as the physical price is right there at valued price.
