Then, the "friend" and wife got married and lived in the house with the murdered man's daughter for years, until shit went south, and they turned on each other. |

It's just sad. :( I like your last sentence I agree, it is sad. Fellowship can be a source of great joys, but it has to be kept in perspective. Recall when Christ’s disciples left Him on the shores of the Sea of Galilee and rowed away. Encountering rough water, they rowed and rowed, making little progress until Christ walked over the waters to them, calmed the storm and brought them safely to land. That is a lesson about rowing your own boat with other believers, but without the sure and immediate guidance of Christ. One wonders if the boat might have capsized, and the disciples been lost to the sea, had not Christ appeared. Almost all churches today are more or less like the disciples in this instance; going their own way without Christ at the helm, one that seems right in their eyes instead of relying solely on Scripture, and encountering stormy trials that eventually founder them. Glad you liked the Ark analogy. It’s not original with me, I heard it years ago. |
