When I was a kid, I did not like olives.

Yeah, but they were fun to stick on your fingers.

Olives are the grossest thing ever.

I love them.

Loved them as a kid. My mother couldn't stand them, brother too, so they were never in our house, but my grandmother adored olives. And I had toothed on dill pickles as a baby and could make a whole jar of homemade dill pickles disappear quite quickly. And fell in love with olives very early on. And she had little cans of smoked oysters. Lovely combination that was.

Mind you tastes are inherited. Liked the blue cheese she got too.

My taste buds are almost identical to hers.

My son is like my Norwegian grandfather, and loves pickled pigs feet and things my grandfather traditionally adored, including sardines and herring.

Strange isn't it I'm in the same boat... Couldn't stand them up to a few years ago, but as I age I like them in a salad...

I put them in all Italian dishes

I dream of growing olives, harvesting and processing olives which is weird cause I have lived all my life on the 45th parallel and olives don`t grow in Michigan.

Mom used to always get that olive loaf baloney

and I just thought they were gross.


Incidentally... FYI... olives and almonds are excellent for your preps...

It made them delicious.
