Why are there laws preventing children from going to strip clubs, age requirements for entry? Decency. Decent people don't seek to expose under-aged people to sexually explicit themes and materials. Why? Because it has a degenerative effect on the citizenry and body politic, and it is harmful to children, which any decent person agrees should be protected, partially because it helps maximize their potential for becoming decent citizens.

Sexualized and costume laden adults, whose costumes are for the exhibition of that sexualized person, for the entertainment of crowds who are there to satiate their lusts by gawking at that sexualized costume laden adult, sharing stages with impressionable children, who have a natural desire for positive adult attention, is an attempt to corrupt the future behavior of these children by having them share the stage with these "performers" at an early age, has no place in a decent society.
