A puppy followed me this morning before dawn.
Sorry I have to share this cos it doesn't have a happy ending. Sorry. It was a chihuahua puppy. It was cute. (I don't like small dogs, as a rule. I call them yappers.) It just crossed the street from nowhere going towards the store that I just came from. I gave her/him/it a bit of food, and all it did was roll over it.

Then it followed me for half hour. We crossed freeway overpasses and underpasses. I was this close to where I'm staying, one more freeway underpass to cross and I could feed doggy. I guess it was too much for chihuahua: it cross the street in the middle of traffic (thank goodness, not much when doggy crossed) and went away.

So the doggy ended up over half an hour where I found it. Doggy was not fed by me. Doggy ditched me, after prancing around ahead of me and behind me, like an old friend. I don't know what it all means. Wildlife often chooses me to be their human helper.

I was exhausted from getting lost in the middle of the night and just couldn't backtrack as I was ready to collapse and barely made it back. I feel bad. I felt like this doggy wanted me as its human but I really can't afford a dog with all the crazy demands the gov makes (toxvaxxes and licences and all that crap.) By tonight, doggy could be anywhere. I don't know what to do. I did all I could. Hope it finds its way back to where they feed him .

Re: A puppy followed me this morning before dawn.
God sends pups to people in order to teach them the finer points of love. This I believe!

Every dog I’ve owned has came into my life this way. After loosing them, I realized how those little mutts changed me for the Spiritual better.

You ain’t asking, but I am recommending you find that little dog no matter what.

A great blessing from up high had been gifted you. Don’t worry about not being able to support it, that blessing comes with the packaged gift.

If you find this Mutt, this post will remain in your heart the rest of your life.

I guarantee it!

Re: A puppy followed me this morning before dawn.
Thank you, AC. I rescued another (larger) puppy when I was a child, myself. It had been abused. She became our dog, even though my parents were against. I persuaded them.

I really really wanted to feed this one, but I was beyond exhausted. So I had to go. I got lost in a scary way, ended up in a bit of a dangerous part of town, after I passed the Victorian homes, I was first under a freeway overpass, then OVER one (very scary) and then it was a whole other vibe. Like a foreign town. (Well, the people are!)

The street was huge to cross to go after it, and so I could not. Plus 2 cop cars just passed me and I dreaded they would ticket me for "having a dog without a leash" and how to convince them it wasn't mine?

I thought there was a reason I got lost, to find her but when she ditched me, I guess it wasn't meant to be. I just hope, if she was going to get food at the corner mart, that she finds her way back.

My favorite part was when she started prancing, literally LEAPT up in the air as she ran ahead of me at one point. I thought to myself: "Oh boy! She owns me now!" And then, that happened. Sad.

I will go back and try to feed her (I think it was) but it looked in great shape, whereas the one I rescued as a child was skin and bones and obviously abused (hairs missing and the like).

Thank you for your positive words, in spite of the Juan Star I received (at all my threads tonight).
peace

Don't worry, it knows how to get back home.

But chihuahuas are so cute somebody might decide to kidnap it and give it tons of love and treats. I have two chi and they're chipped - they're so cute that I'm sure somebody would pick them up.

But the joke would be on them because the BARK all the fucking time! They're so barky! Loyal and loving, but I think I'll go with a different breed next time.

Re: A puppy followed me this morning before dawn.
Funny story how I ended up with my first Chihuahua. I was actually hypnotized to get her.

I was going to regular hypnosis appointments because I wanted him to hypnotize me to be happier. Well, he ends up doing this "you will follow the white dog through the field" thing every time.

Not long after, I actually bought a white, baby chihuahua. A few months later got a second one so she'd have a friend while I was at work.

Dogs really are good for people. For me, at least. And just petting a dog has health benefits, like lowering blood pressure, etc...

Wow, that is some story, Bloody Mary! I've never heard that line with the white dog. This puppy was white with brown markings all over.

Funny thing: in the late 90's, I was assigned a hypnotherapist-in-training to help me with a situation that I'm STILL going thru NOW! Well she showed up at my place and was a complete dud. Wasted my time. I specifically said I wanted a hypnotherapy session, commands to help me get to the root of a problem that has persisted and followed me around for over 35 years, now!

Instead of doing hypnotherapy, she sits down at my kitchen table and starts scrawling a dot and circles about it, trying to explain to me what hypnotherapy is. I kept interrupting her after I saw she was full of bull. I said "I Booked this time for a hypnotherapy session". She was completely unprofessional, a total dud, a loser, Then she refused to leave my home (I kept telling her to "leave if you're not doing what I ordered here") and she then got hysterical and started demanding $20 for me to pay her gas to go back home.

Um, I don't think so! You wasted not only my time, but you took the slot for a LEGIT hypnotherapist to come help me. That woman was a nightmare. UGH! Just remembering that now, residuals of that nasty experience. Cord cutting, LOL!!

Anyway, yeah as I typed in my first few sentences, I call chihuahua "yappers" but what you gonna do when the cutie finds you, you know?! I love large dogs, golden retrievers, labs, weirmeranians (sp?) that sort of thing. Glad you got along with your 2 pups, good for you!!

Yeah, I've had a few like that. I'm very interested in hypnosis, meditation etc...but what I found is that nobody knows you like you do. You just have to go inside and work with yourself. Master self hypnosis. I'm sure that professional hypnotherapists or psychiatrists help some people, but I always felt like they just didn't "get it". And it would have taken a lifetime to bring them up to speed.

I also love big dogs. My family has four german shepherds out at the ranch, they are the best.

my friend ran from the law in barefoot, no shirt, in 98 degree heat. he walked two counties over and was determined to make his way to florida. He met a couple who gave him shelter while he waited for me to drop off a duffle bag of clothes and food at his location to help him on his journey. When i found him he had a chihuahau that the couple gave him. He had a change of heart and wanted to go home to face his fines and see his wife and give her this puppy. he went to jail for months and came out and they raised that puppy.
It was the best dog they ever had, he was so intelligent and loyal. It brought out he best of him. find that puppy. they dont eat much.

The funny thing?? I'm a master hypnotherapist myself. Yes, I know self hypnosis. It's been the catalyst for much change in my life since the 80s. Yes, I've put others under. But I NEEDED someone to give me COMMANDS because I trick myself. (Oh and this is way back when I could visualize, I no longer can. Illness progressed, with all kinds of brain symptoms and impairments like aphantasia, fun!) :-/

I explained this to the school of hypnotherapy I had contacted and the guy was very happy to have one of his students "cut his teeth" so to speak. Then she didn't do squat! I needed someone to distract my mind while they put me under so I couldn't resist like I do when I tried this by myself and to really be assertive and command me to go to the root cause of "this" and reverse it.

Alas, that was not to be! :-( I had zero cents to spare back then, was barely having enough food at the end of my month, so I wasn't about to waste it on someone who hadn't earned it. The nerve! (And she was trying to guilt trip me and cry and say she was out of gas but I wouldn't have it.)

German Shepherds yes! Good doggy! I think that's the standard. When someone says "dog" that is the breed that should come to my mind first.

Aw what a story here too! It's not just the money, I have NO space, literally, for a dog and I'm struggling with where I'm at right now and health problems which would make it very hard for me to go walk the dog. I just wanted to give it some food and then figure out what to do. I just don't know. It wasn't so young anymore but was skimmish of people. Tried to come near me when I walked but I'd turn around and it scurry away. Poor cutie pie.

Re: A puppy followed me this morning before dawn.
I've shared this story before here, but I cannot help but share it again as it gives me a chance to honor my best friend who passed in Oct of last year.
I was staying in a horrible run down place that everyone called "the base" because it used to be the place where military personnel stayed. It was rows of duplexes and a few higher ups would've had a house to themselves I'm guessing. We were unable to have pets unless we could afford a stupid ridiculous pet fee for each pet that nobody could afford if they lived there. (IMO)
Pitbulls were specifically against the rules. No pit or pit mixes. This was during the time when the news was running their campaign against the breed and many places like Boulder Colorado were actively snatching people's pets from their yards if they even looked like a pit.
My neighbors across the little shared court yard had moved out, as I was passing their duplex to get to my own I saw something move out of the corner of my vision and when I looked again it was a puppy that had pulled their curtains down and was chewing on the wall trying to escape thru the window. I broke the window (it was christmas break and nobody would be in the office to let me in and it was a pit puppy so idk what they would've done the ppl there and I didn't see eye to eye on anything so...)
I didn't know how long he'd been in there, it was rough and there was no food or water i could see. I brought him home and thought, ok when everything opens back up after the holidays I'll take him to a no kill shelter. But you guys, that dog changed my life. Gave me strength in times I would've folded, I was so afraid of him when he started to get big and I thought when I had to discipline him that he was going to rip my throat out at night. But i learned the news is full of bs and a pit is like any other dog, an absolute blessing.

I once was at the Renaissance Fair and this costumed lady carried a piglet that kept struggling and squealing to get away from her. I couldn't help myself!

ME: Aw, he's so cute! May I?

HER, sarcastic: be my guest!

Piglet instantly calms down in my arms. Not a peep. Doesn't try to run away from me.

HER: still sarcastic: looks like you have a way with pigs!

I gave it back to her, feeling horrible: the cutie kept trying to wrestle away from her!

It's not that hard: You put yourself in the animal's place and you do to the animal what you would need done to you: spine aligned, neck in alignment. Do not crush its legs. Hold tight and firmly yet gently enough so that animal isn't spooked away. Talk to animal softly. And, if it's in your power, attend to animal's hunger and thirst, and bathroom needs. There you go!
