Russia now stealing Ukraine wheat.

I think it is because Russia is 3/4 larger than the US in land mass. Land which is apparently very rich in oil, gas and mineral reserves, (nickle, lithium, probably all the minerals you can wish for. Big mountain ranges tend to be vast sources of minerals), plus a good deal of arable land that the West would like to take and exploit.

That's the only reason I can suggest. Countries have been trying to take over Russia since before Napolean.

Nice central location as well. dig some canals or lay some roads and bridges and it could become the hub of the world.

Instead it is sort of underutilized by Western standards.

China would also probably like to take it over as well, since they have stripped China bare, overpopulated it to the breaking point and polluted it so badly.

Nature abhors a vacuum as they say.

The evil people in the world are only interested in taking over the world and leveraging everything for their own benefit.
