The Bible has 2 sides...Good/God and Bad/Satan.

D&D was so much more...

Both were defined..Good vs Evil...but each had a gradient...

Lawful Good could potentially be good, but also Nazi fanatic.

Chaotic Evil could totally be PURE evil, but also purification in a sense.

Chaotic Good could actually be a positive force expressing freedom.

Where Lawful Evil could be a negative oppressive force.

For me...I’m Chaotic Good.. I want Good to win out, I just don’t want oppressive laws, regulations, and enforcers, to tell me what to do...it should be natural for me to do the right thing.

Funny it took a supposedly “Satanic” game to actually express realistic moral and world views into public conciseness, where a supposed religious text makes it extremely ambiguous....

I'm guessing that many older former D&D players would be shocked to know what they've done to the latest version of the iconic game.

They went woke. Alignment is all but gone due to it labeling snowflakes. Monsters are no longer evil and combat is frowned upon. All about roleplaying how special you are.

Dungeons & Dragons has become woke, liberal, SJW garbage now.

My most OP character ever was also the only blatantly evil one I ever played. A lawful evil Dread Master Priest of Bane with 125 "followers," a stronghold and three Cohorts: a Barbarian, Erynes, and Hell Hound. Think of all the dice. Probably for the good of the group he only made it to level 14 before Bane had his way with him. It took all the DMs willpower to say no to me breaking out the Warhammer terrain when he'd actually let me field my followers. =D

Contrast that with my second most OP character ever, a Chaotic Good Pixy Druidess. A happy go lucky animal loving trickster, and the only chaotic character I enjoyed playing.

Yeah my group was filled with power gamers.

My mind isn't suited to chaos, so I usually played lawful something, or if I really wanted to be a rebel, true neutral. We had another player who always played a lawful goody Two-Shoes, and another who was, hilariously, chaos incarnate. Good times witnessing the outcomes of their disagreements.

Most players definitely had a "type," which seemed to express some idealized aspect of themselves. The trend with mine was accumulating loyal followers, making friends and liasing with power brokers.

It's still protocol 13 and called "games and amusements" with purpose and is harmful if swallowed.

20 Yeah agreed and the weird things that happen while playing.

My best friend and I were playing D&D many years ago when he (The DM) decided to kill my lvl 6 Ranger...

I swear this happened.. I was attacked in a hallway by three minitours and rolled three CONSECUTIVE 20s using a stabling attack through the eyes hitting the brains..

He couldn't believe it and neither did I!

Anyway I just wanted to share that one..

Precious observation from a poster whose green comes overwhelmingly from threads reports. Take those out and it's majority red probably because of crap posts like this one.

Remember this -

Evil has two faces

1 - Puritanical (The holy inquisition)

2 - Chaotic (Incontrollable beasts of the field)

Its the two extremes

Your job is to make them work together to soften their edges
Then they will be one and be good.

Odin has to watch both his sons or else they will kill each other, but they are still brothers.
