NATO needs Turkey more than Turkey needs NATO.

No, this won't happen in the near future.

The why of the conflict is interesting. Of course, the main why is that Turkey is your basic "middle man" type country and wants to play the middle for maximum advantage. So one would suspect that Turkey will eventually name their price once they figure out about how much they can get for this.

But...on the other hand...Turkey does perhaps have a legit point here because apparently since Finland and Sweden were NOT members of NATO, it seems that NATO used them to fund/support our long suffering buddies the Kurds, in Turkey. Whoopsies.

Or at least, that is the accusation and Turkey's 'gimme' here.
