You are living the van life. This makes it look like you were doing it 100% voluntary because you want the freedom of movement and less obligations. It removes a lot of the society stigma and allows you easier access to social and work chances. Quoting: samanthasunflower Good luck. Stay away from drugs alcohol and other expensive habits. Plenty of people have chosen to live the van life for a period of time and been able to get back into a house sometimes they can even use this to save up a lot of money so they could buy a house. Please. It's not living the van life. It's not living the escort life. It's being homeless and being a whore. Don't candy coat shit. It's not 'fun' to live in a vehicle and 'van life' doesn't equate to 'fun life' or 'good life' or 'free life.' You may be financially free but you're still a slave to necessity. Can't run from that friend. |

Hope you aren't homeless forever, but you might find you might like saving money even after your circumstances improve. |

Quoting: Adjudicator :Radicals77: :truthbomb: :bumpity: I was temporarily in this situation as well, unfortunately. It was many years ago. I did the gym membership to shower, but I have to admit, I never thought about the airline thing. Great thinking! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 23371517 United States 05/08/2022 10:53 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It's okay at first, the reality is that way of life is hard it's highly unpredictable and it's fkn dangerous, things can go from bad to deadly at any moment. Quoting: Anonymous 2 cents 43928709 Don't become isolated parking in remote areas or even to far from other people. The further your away that's where the violent psychos will be and they will see you before you see them. Stay away from rivers, abandoned buildings, dilapidated environments, under bridges, tunnels etc. DON'T stay in one place for too long. Be VERY wary of other (friendly) homeless types offering (beer dope whores etc) Keep feet dry & be as hygienic as possible, stay rested and alert, keep your body health up. Try and get another place to live. This guy gives good advice. Men rape men on the streets, think they don't till you've got a gun to your head or a knife to your neck. You'll see the animal in man if your out there long enough. :comeonman: :cornbread: |
Halfbreedgal User ID: 80702983 United States 05/08/2022 10:57 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There's this guy on youtube that teaches people how to live in their cars. How to do it all... and he shows how people are living on 500 to 800 bucks a month. It's all detailed. It's called "Cheap RV Living" but it's not just RVs, it's like this fat woman who lives in her Prius, and you wonder how can she do this? He shows you how. Are we at a point in this society now where we have to look up EVERYTHING to know how to do it , online ? Common sense should dictate this lol. Next someone will be doing videos on how to wipe your own ass ..btw I do have my own YouTube channel...Nellie's Farm. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 83118382 United States 05/08/2022 11:16 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Re bleeding hearts for "Homeless" should take a vacation with backpack, sleeping bag, tent, groundmat & even better "Bikepack" which you can learn about online with numerous vendors & blogs. Quoting: da kat With a small foldable solar panel & power bank battery, besides food & water—you can be self-sufficient anywhere on the planet. Add a gooseneck bike trailer & you can move enough food & water to camp a few weeks between town visits. Tablet and/or slim, low-power laptop and you are set for entertainment & communication (how dare you "homeless" spending downtime on GLP!) :p Backpacking in general has evolved over a century, both expedition/military wise & as a hobby, obviously weight & portability is an obsession. BTW in Humboldt County NW California you can't find camp sized propane bottles & tourism/camping/parks is a major industry here—besides the homeless freezing or needing to cook food—starving them out or Chinese shipping issues? As for people crying you are in a vehicle, try living on a boat in a marina, besides marinas usually have hot shower/bathrooms in common buildings and in rural locations berth space can be as low as $100/mo. City colleges/swimming pools are another source for free showers. Hostels have low-cost bunk rooms & common room kitchen/showers while co-working office spaces are another form of base, like industrial building lofts. So many ways to avoid the landlord anchor around your neck—besides rest stops, RV parks or year-round campgrounds on state or federal land. RV living is an Internet genre at this point, some doing it in $500k RVs. Grooming jobs on racetracks or horse breeding farms give a residence & income. Frankly living on a boat has the greatest appeal with WW3 or zombie, blood vomiting plagues breaking out—bye bye... |

AMA You don't need a gym membership, you vain poser. Hey "brainguy" you realize that a 24 hour gym gives access to a locker room and shower, as well as just a place to hang out with AC. You aren't using that brain of yours very well. |

User ID: 79771883 United States 05/08/2022 11:24 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My friend did this for over 5 years... Quoting: pish Had a van, with a bed in back. Did laundry at laundromat, gym membership for a shower, and just ate cheap rotisserie chicken you find at supermarkets with a salad. Only downside is toilet issues...so if you can deal with that...you are golden to live the vanlife. I wonder if a the back of a full SUV Is big enough to pull this off comfortably. Lol. I am looking at moving out for the summer, just to save up enough money if anything to be able to afford a Iphone 14 Pro when they are released, along with the ridiculous $150 a month that service costs. So you'd go homeless just for a damn phone? ffs I believe in science NOT religion. Giving me bad karma for that, is anti-religious (you're passing judgement) I am just a man. Of no significance. Who found religion to be full of lies, and wrong doing, conflicted teachings I understand microwave communications. I do not stand for the NWO, it sucks. |

It's been going for over 1000 years. Buddhist monks realized we live in a hell simulation (watch the good place) and they can "opt out" by doing nothing but meditating all day. They really were brilliant. Yes we live in hell and any time you can think of that you think was "good" I can point out how it wasn't. |

Meditating is just part of it, being and doing what really represents who you are inside, will shape things more than you know. The only thing you can change is your perception of what is happening. You could be getting kicked in the balls and you will try to see the bright side. That doesn't change the fact that you have little to no influence on your own personal life and there are demons everywhere feeding off your negativity. |
