I'd say that doing that is a sure fire way of testing positive. See what happens when you pour a little bit of vodka on a RAT...hand sanitizers are an ever higher concentration of alcohol.

I've seen vaseline suggested but there is disagreement on whether it works or not.

if its a self imposed one, why not just run it under water and send it in.

Not to be stuck in a typical Italian hotel room with Italian-only tv for two weeks.

They're drinkers so I imagine that their hotel-ordered alcohol bill would land up more than the cost of their trip.

Testing delayed until tomorrow. Still looking for suggestions.

Don't stick hand sanitizer up your nose, use steam from a hot towel and blow out the nose thoroughly.

Do it as hot as you can stand for at least ten minutes, three times per day.

I've tried this on home tests and it works.

I was in the UK in March '20 when all this nonsense started and remember announcements not to take Paracetamol before being tested as it might adversly affect the test results. (- instead of +).

The last train out of Whitby never showed and we had to take a taxi to Scarborough in order to get to the empty hotel at empty Heathrow.

You try this and report back at the results. Snort it like a huge pile of blow. Cut up a nice gorilla finger line of hand sanitizer, dap it up a little bit, then rail it all in one good go. You’ll be safer than ever I bet.

I want to go to Italy but don't because of this. It's one of the stricter countries. What's the point if you're going to be stuck in a hotel for two weeks, it's ridiculous, especially since there are numerous VIP exceptions. You also have to quarantine for 5 days to enter of you are unvaccinated and submit to numerous tests. If you can fly in and out private you do not have to do any of this crap. Then you have to pass another test to get back into the states.

This is the part that breaks my heart. Now I started crying. Our beautiful free world destroyed. We will never get it back.

I've more of less resigned myself to the fact that I won't ever see Europe at all now. All my retirement plans ruined. I was going to retire traveling Europe. Now I'll never see Italy or numerous other countries, if I ever get to travel at all. Just on my own personal level it's a total disaster.

I wanted to retire to Whitby UK (dual citizen) but after this I'm just staying where I'm at in rural SD. I did visit UK, Italy, Sweden, Netherlands, Easter Island, Tahiti in the past but no longer have any travel plans.
