these are countries the west felt sorry for because of their poverty and let them sell us stuff. we were completely fine without them. how were they?

we have alot of experience without them and we flourished... they should remember how shit life was without us.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 81446580

Correct. But in turn, the US/West has become so increasingly self-entitled, arrogant and corrupt, it has lost a lot of its moral high ground and credibility.

Think of how Britain a few centuries ago forced China to accept the opium trade. Forced them to allow the buying and selling of a narcotic to flourish. China's emperors tried to stop it, but the Opium Wars ensued.

China had its ass kicked in, and China was forced to be Britain's bitch.

Britain (and the US, etc) back then was not much more of a Karen-Gestapo Liberal than it is today.

In a way, turnaround is fair play.

12And the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up to prepare the way for the kings of the East.

13And I saw three unclean spirits that looked like frogs coming out of the mouths of the dragon, the beast, and the false prophet. 14These are demonic spirits that perform signs and go out to all the kings of the earth, to assemble them for battle on the great day of God the Almighty.

15“Behold, I am coming like a thief. Blessed is the one who remains awake and clothed, so that he will not go naked and let his shame be exposed.”

16And they assembled the kings in the place that in Hebrw is called Armageddon.

I'm not even a bible believer but considering china's work on hydro projects upriver of these places... That gives even me a cold chill.

China has been very quietly building extensive hydro projects all over Asia to the point where they're within a few years of controlling ALL THE HEADWATERS of water courses that are 4 billion people's fresh water sources.

People should be so angry at what the leadership of the west has allowed to happen in the past 30 years.

They have kept most of us distracted and unaware while sowing the seeds of the west's and freedom's demise. Potentially permanently or as near to permanently that no newborn born this year will have even a hope of seeing the rise of freedom within their lifetime.

South Ossetia begins a parade of accessions to Russia

South Ossetia should become part of Russia. This statement was made by the head of the republic Anatoly Bibilov. The initiative was supported in the Russian parliament. But in order to comply with legal norms, the republic must hold a referendum. When can Russia have a new region or even several? The idea of similar referendums is being discussed in the leadership of the DPR and the LPR.

President of the Republic of South Ossetia (RSO) Anatoly Bibilov said on Wednesday that in the near future the republic will take the necessary legal steps to join its northern neighbor. "I believe that unification with Russia is our strategic goal. Our way. The aspiration of the people. And we will move along this path," he promised.

South Ossetia, Russia and the whole world are experiencing a turning point, Bibilov recalled. "The Russian world today defends the interests of those who are committed to it, those who oppose Nazism, respect universal values and fundamental rights and norms accepted by the entire international community," said the President of the RSO.

The politician added that joining the Russian Federation is "an age–old dream and strategic goal" of the people of South Ossetia. According to him, consultations are now taking place so that the steps that are being taken to join Russia are legally correct.

Bibilov's press secretariat noted that the referendum on joining Russia will take place after the presidential elections of South Ossetia, which are scheduled for April 10. The referendum will be held in the near future, the speaker of the Parliament of the RSO Alan Tadtaev also confirmed. "We have every reason to join the Russian Federation, there are no legal obstacles to this," Tadtayev told the Res news agency.

"In Georgia, they will turn to the West, cry. But we act as a sovereign state,

and we will resolve our issues with our allies," Leonid Tibilov, Bibilov's predecessor as president of the RSO, told the VZGLYAD newspaper on this occasion. Georgia's unfriendly attitude has been felt in one form or another since the declaration of independence of South Ossetia in 1990, he recalled.

"Our state participates in the Geneva talks, a process that was launched after the five–day war. Three sides of the negotiations – South Ossetian, Russian and Abkhaz – propose that Tbilisi, in pursuance of the plan, sign a memorandum on the non-use of force against South Ossetia and Abkhazia. But the Georgian side does not sign this document. In Tskhinvali, this is regarded as a constant threat, as Georgia's intention to "resolve the territorial issue" by force at an opportunity," the ex–president complained.

"The agreement on the common defense space of Russia and South Ossetia has been in force for seven years. On March 18, 2015, as President, I signed this agreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The document was adopted taking into account the danger that was and is today – that Georgia may once again use force against South Ossetia," Tibilov said.

The ex-president admits that Georgia will impose anti-Russian sanctions in response to the decision on South Ossetia's entry into the Russian Federation. "True, we have heard Tbilisi's statements about its refusal to join the Western sanctions campaign," the ex–president of the RSO notes, "But Georgia has changeable principles, so we cannot hope that they will not impose sanctions in the future. They can do this under pressure from their Western "friends". However, Tbilisi's sanctions cannot be particularly tangible for Russia."

In Moscow, the initiative of Tskhinval was welcomed. Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Andrey Klimov recalled that Russian legislation provides for the procedure for admission to foreign states or their parts. "The main thing is to express the will of the Ossetian people. This can be done through a referendum," the senator explained.

South Ossetia has the right to hold a referendum, and now is the right time to conduct all legal procedures, TASS quotes Leonid Kalashnikov, chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots. "If someone says, "Why do we need another stone around our neck?" - here I will disappoint him. Russia is already helping (South Ossetia) today – not only in the field of security, but also in the economy. And it would be strange if she didn't. We will never abandon the fraternal South Ossetian people," the deputy assured.

His deputy on the Duma committee Artem Turov believes that the accession will give South Ossetia the opportunity to become stronger economically and politically. "The Ossetian people are a divided people. And today's statement by the head of the republic is an opportunity for Ossetians to become one big nation. This decision gives the right to self–determination, the opportunity to determine both your future and the vector of development," the deputy said.

The politician recalled that during the Georgian-Ossetian conflict of 2008, Russia showed its position. "I think both the people of Russia and the people of South Ossetia will support this decision. It will be historic for us," Turov stressed.

In another former Georgian autonomy – Abkhazia – expressed solidarity with the decision of Tskhinvali. As the Secretary of the Security Council of Abkhazia Sergey Shamba pointed out, the unification of South Ossetia with North Ossetia is the national dream of Ossetians, and Abkhazia supports this aspiration of the inhabitants of the "fraternal republic". However, Shamba commented on the possibility of Abkhazia itself joining Russia as follows: "Firstly, our Constitution and legislation do not allow, and there is no such mood in society."

"We have been waiting for this for many years, and during all this time the idea has not just not lost popularity, but is gaining strength.

Of course, the external unstable background around the world contributes to this," said Elena Bazzayeva, head of the Ossetian community in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). According to her, similar sentiments prevail in the Donbass, where she lives. "The DPR and South Ossetia want to live in the same state, therefore, judging by the mood in society, Donbass also wants to become part of the Russian Federation," Bazzayeva said.

The head of the DPR Denis Pushilin on the air of Solovyov Live also expressed joy that such a "decision has matured" and expressed support for South Ossetia in its "aspirations". The day before, Pushilin himself stated that Donetsk would consider the possibility of joining Russia after the liberation of the entire territory of the republic.

Also, the idea of a referendum on the accession of the Luhansk People's Republic to Russia is proposed by the head of the LNR Leonid Pasechnik. "I think that in the near future a referendum will be held on the territory of the republic, at which the people will exercise their absolute constitutional right and express their opinion on joining the Russian Federation. For some reason, I am sure that this is exactly what will happen," said the head of this republic of Donbass.

In South Ossetia itself, "people are overwhelmed with joy from the president's statement and the words of Russian deputies about possible accession," said Maria Kotaeva, head of the State Committee for Information and Press of the RSO. "Many still can't believe it," the interlocutor noted.
