If Putin cuts off gas | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 82627254 Norway 03/30/2022 08:56 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | All Europeans are going to pay for their leaders unwillingness to buy rubles, also Norwegians, since we participate in ACER - the European energy union and have several cables connecting the Norwegian powergrid to EU and UK. It is absolutely absurd that Norway, so rich in hydropower, gas and oil, now have to import energy from the common EU-grid that cost 10 times the price before those cables were introduced. Electricity used to be almost for free in Norway, now a normal household with a monthly usage ofr 2000 Kw/h pay like $500 each month. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 82627254 Why did you join the EU? There were two elections, one in 1972 and one in 1994, where the Norwegians said NO to join the EU. But the politicians still joined the EU by a backdoor, the EEC, which is like being a member but without any representation. The politicians joined the ACER too, and voted in favor of building the cables, through the wholly state-owned powercompany Statkraft. Democracy is a fucking joke! |

If he wanted europe dead, he could just do nothing and flip the switch to off, lol Quoting: Anonymous Coward 82203186 He will flip the switch off soon. He's not a nice guy, he's just calculating. He knows forcing the EU to buy in Rubles will mean turning the supply off, but he wants to make it look like Europe has done it to itself. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 72497887 United States 03/30/2022 08:59 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Meh that's like 3% of our energy needs and none here has gas anything apart from BBQ. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 82007400 Gonna suck being German tho! Germany will align with Russia as a result. Wait and see I said this 3 weeks ago. Germany is the strongest member of the EU. Putin wants to cut deals with Germany to fuck the union. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77356555 NO, it IS a big deal. The U.S. /EU is trying to destroy Russia's economy by sanctions, which are hurting the value of the Ruble. If all of these countries have to pay in rubles for gas and oil, instead of Dollars and Euros, the value of the Ruble goes up, while the value of the Euro and Dollar goes down. It is a win-win for Russia. |

They pinned their bets poorly and built up their enemies. They deserve the same thing that's coming to American retail. I don't mean empty shelves, I mean empty stores and a loss of overtly cheap retail. China will embargo us one day. |

We'll be starting at square one because all the heavy industry trades have been lost and forgotten. Cars will start at $120k by 2030. But for that to even be successful women would have to want to marry and have children with men who work in factories for blue collar wages and that would take an upheaval of social changes. You're better off learning a foreign language because the good ole days are several generations away. |

User ID: 82265833 United States 03/30/2022 09:16 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | What will not be forgotten is Putin's threats to cut off supply and his naive bully gamesmanship. Russian gas will no longer be seen as a viable alternative, only as back-up or spot market purchase. Never forget--the customer wields ultimate power in the long-term. They write the checks. Putin has pissed off his customers and threatened their supply. That will not serve him nor his Russian production capabilities well in the future. Putin screwed the Russians, not the EU. I am Billy Ringo and I approve of this message. Paid for by belligerent derelicts for Ringo. |

West will be happy to convert to alternative energy including nuke plants which will make Putins oil fields worthless. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 80808103 There is a giant gap between here and there. Good luck. Germany shut down their nuclear plants, and tried switching to solar, unfortunately for them, Germany has too much cloud cover, too much of the time, and the solar panels weren't generating much output. Wind and solar are pipe dreams. |
