A single ounce of gold can now buy a house in Venezuela because of hyperinflation

I know it's gold but silver also buys a lot in Venezuela.
 Quoting: Don Draper from Nantucket

This is a lie. I decided to do Charity in Venezuela.interviewed several people. A half oz of silver will buy you the same amount as 20 u.s dollars will buy you here in the u s.

In other words half oz will get you the same buying power in Venezuela as u.s. you can buy 15 hot dogs in the u.s and 15 hotdogs in Venezuela with half oz. Don't know how this rumor started. Silver is a hedge.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 61181626

The average silvertard is simply ignorant of history. If they took the time to study the many incidents of hyperinflation they'd see clearly that silver is not some magical metal, at all.

Silver is not gold and never will be..
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 68568937

It’s a hedge and gamble.

Does the Fed fail within 20 years? That silver may worth more in the new currency. If the Fed doesn’t fail and it’s business as normal, you still have the same sub-$50 value of a coin. Not a horrible risk for the gamble.

What is the historic gold/silver ratio average?
What is the current gold/silver ratio?

How does the current ratio get back to average ratio? Silver goes up or gold goes down.

Here is what's going on : There is an ill wind blowing and many sense trouble. I decided to obtain some kitchen matches and there were none !? I finally had to ebay some. Every store had zero matches. No book matches a few boxes of $$ looong wooden matches...no way $$! I'm in the remote North, so matches are something that is an item usually found in every store. Other preppers were stocking up ....hmmm...

So what do matches have to do with silver ? The reason the premiums are taking off is because Joe Six pack wants physical silver and the demand is through the roof and supplies are evaporating. People are slowly waking up.It is time to stock up and prepare.

Yes, a good way to go as well. I'm used to matches and had a year's supply BEFORE I went looking ! Ammunition will evaporate as well. As far as what is a dollar : take a dollar bill out of your wallet. Hold it ,look at it ,feel the weight of it . Now, take a Morgan Sliver Dollar and do the same and get back to me. We can see the price of fuel vs. the dollar, not pretty. Inflation is 20 % and the paper dollar is only worth what people believe it is. They can still be wrong when they can only buy a 1/4 tank of fuel with the same amount of paper that filled their car a few months ago.

I won’t argue that it sat there for 20 years doing nothing.

I won’t even promise it’s do something in the next 20.

But don’t think the Fed game is going to last forever, nor that simply because one has it sitting for 20 years that there aren’t other investments already made.

Diversification. It’s what’s for dinner.

True, in the Day of Wrath of the Lord silver nor anything else of perceived value will buy your way out of it.
So what? NOTHING WILL SAVE THEM BUT CHRIST.

Every other day in the history of the world, silver held value. It holds it today. It has been remarkably stable in buying power compared to the wild swings of other assets. Yes, people might have made more fiat invested in some other asset.

Why all the hate for the people that chose silver metal?

Because there are rich and powerful entities that despise silver and will pay shills to try to hold its popularity in check during times like these.

Because there are those that have read and heard they should buy metal and chose not to, instead frittering their money away on vacations and new cars. Jealous, they attack, using some of the most lame and silly arguments, as in you can't eat it. You can't eat $50 bills, either.

I have made money whenever life forced me to liquidate some coins. Silver was over $35 for a while years ago and I sold a few here and there, making a bit of money if you only consider that. I hated to let any go and it was always inescapable.

The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of Hosts. Haggai 2:8

Where are you filling up your gas tank and paying in silver shavings?

Meanwhile, you've wasted 20 years of your life instead of investing in something that would produce value.

Just like people here who bought silver 20 years ago.
A waste of time and money.

Dude, wake up.

As the petrodollar declines, silver rises.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78914005

Except it hasn't.

It was $130/ounce in 1980 and $50/ounce in 2011.
Now, in 2022, it's $24/ounce.

Do you see how you're speaking in fallacies?

You picked the 20 year time frame, not me . Lmao
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72616895

Yeah and it went from $130 to $5 to $50 to $24.
It's not anything that can be trusted to keep its value.
So anyone who is buying it is wasting their time and money.

No need, just collect legal tender Constitutional silver . They are dimes, quarters & halves. You don't need to shave. I'm a farmer and have bulk fuel stored in any event.

It's very simple really.

If you got a bunch of money in the bank buy some commodities and then spend some on physical silver.

If you don't have a lot of money you best stick to commodities. Food, fuel, seeds, bullets.

Should you go all in on silver? That's up to you.

I want the logo of the masterminds of the economic collapse on my silver - at almost twice the spot price! So when I am trying to get rice and bread in an economic collapse it will have the full faith and credit of the failed state formerly known as the USA.

And I want a U.S. government monetary value of $1 stamped on it so they can legislate its seizure from me as a "currency".

Did I mention I'm retarded?
