The silver and gold will be the last dominoes to fall.

It will happen but not at a time and place of the Governments choosing.

In other words, all measures will be expended to keep the "price" of silver and gold under control otherwise it is game over for the banksters.

My best guess is that there will be a force majeure when the world turns from the dollar en masse and no longer accepts it in trade or contracts.

Still time left but would be prudent to keep stacking at these artificially low prices until you can no longer buy any.

These prices are still a gift especially for silver when the world goes electric that is the one metal needed and so ridiculously underpriced.

Adjusted for inflation and the loss of purchasing power the actual price is very low.

I held a position in precious metals since the mid 80's. its still working fine as an insurance policy......bought in when gold was around $300 and silver around $4....nothing to give up on...

Re: How many here have given up on precious metals?
Not me.

I didn't buy metal hoping to sell it for more fiat later. I bought metal hoping to preserve some wealth through the soon upcoming collapse of all fiat currencies (and all paper assets).

Now that this event is imminent I'm very happy I bought this insurance policy years ago when it was dirt cheap, so I don't have to buy it in the last minute for more.

I got some junk silver but I'm a big fan of gold and silver coins. I figure one day I'll have to use my pre 1965 quarters and dimes for barter.

Wish I had more money to buy both since the prices are artificially low, but then again only crooks seem to prosper in this modern economy and I'd rather have a clean conscience.

Don't worry guys.

I am disgusted with the neverending manipulation of gold and silver, and I am THIS close to dumping all my metal and PM shares (and I've been a "bug" for over 20 years.)

The moment I do this, PMs will take off, and never look back.

Shoon.

when PM's take off There will be no point to having so much collected wealth. Your most likely going to get killed over it.

If you are holding anything, you are insane. Ditch everything and buy stuff now you can use or need before its too late. You can always sell that stuff later

I have no plans to sell metals for cash. I would consider using it in one quick transaction to buy other hard assets.

When the Islamic Caliphate returns, gold and silver will become money again and sky rocket in value. There will be no need to price them in dollars because federal reserve notes would have become haraam and worthless.

This is the number one reason why the kuffaar spread disinformation about Islam.

Re: How many here have given up on precious metals?
A key point of any real currency is stability.

Physical gold/silver are doing exactly what they are supposed to do (even with all the manipulation). They are not supposed to fluctuate wildly like cryptos.

Just 10 or 11 years ago gold was at $900...now it's at $2,000. It's a store of value, just as it's supposed to be. Protecting our purchasing power.

If you've given up on physical PMs...then you have bought into the "get rich quick" hype of cryptos.

Re: How many here have given up on precious metals?
Back around 1960 gold was at $35 per ounce...or you could say the US dollar was worth 1/35th of an ounce of gold.

Today gold is at $2,000 per ounce...or you could say the US dollar was worth 1/2,000th of an ounce of gold.
