Quoting: AKAllie When I have hiked deep in the mountain forests and sat still and basked in the quiet, it is amazing how many sounds the forest makes. I once came upon an old cotton wood tree, it looked like a giant with an old plow. My kids were with me and thought I was nuts talking to this old tree.. And then to their amazement this tree groaned and creaked, there was no wind.. Another one of those things that have no explanation, other than a a lovey moment interacting with a tree that has witnessed many moon and sunrises. When I see trees getting clearcutted to build what not it makes me so sad, I can feel the remaining edge of trees mourn for those that were literally slaughtered. Cheers to these things not understood but make so much sense People are going to make fun of me for telling your this... but each day I visit my trees and caress their branches. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 ESV Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? To all the negative nellies in the peanut gallery, you're why people turn to the companionship of plants and animals. You're just really dreary personas scoffing and discounting what isn't understood. |

ALL plants make music. How does the tree do that? I'll answer my own question : [link to soundofgoldenlight.com] "The U1 device for the music of the plants is based on a variation of the Wheatstone bridge, where one or more fixed resistances and a variable one are used to measure variations of impedance (electrical resistance). In the case of the U1 what is being measured is the electrical resistance in the living tissues of plants. These variations can then be translated into a variety of different signals, including MIDI for digital musical instruments, like a synthesizer." If you have to speed it up, compress it, and then convert it to MIDI signals, then the tree isnt doing anything. You could literally do the same to a toaster and say "oh look my toaster is making music". That's incredible! What kind of toaster do you have? Mine's a Hamilton Beach. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 ESV Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? If you really want to hear the trees' music, simply record the U1 for a few hours, and then speed it up into the audible range. I looked online for this U1 sped up. I would rather hear the raw wavelength without midi translation because what is the point if you can’t hear the plants real overtones / voice. We are hearing the composition but not the voice. I can’t find it anywhere which is a bummer. I don’t want to take the time to do it on my own I just wanted to hear it. Post a link if you have it! That would be cool. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 82368901 Worse than a cat running over it. Absolutely. Horrible sound. But this whole stuff is treehuggers anthropomorphising plants. You could do that electronic resistance recording thing with human bodies . You wouldn't speed the signals up and play them and call them music. FFS. |

Cheers to these things not understood but make so much sense Totally agree. They do communicate - you just have to be still and listen. I lived in a bush area for a while that had a stand of bamboo just outside the front door. The bamboo used to rustle and move when I went past it despite there being no wind. There is also evidence plants know their regular gardeners. Some scientists found that when their regular gardeners were around they made a high decibel clicking noise. They did not make this noise when people they did not know came into the Lab. |

It takes a while to understand it if you just saw and heard it for the first time. Not like the bevis and butthead cartoons you are used to. |

ALL plants make music. How does the tree do that? it's total bullshit. those are musical instruments There are a lot of ignorant people around here. First, you need to understand what music is. Music is basically composed of three elements: Harmony, Melody and Rhythm. The internal processes of a living being can contain these elements, that is, it is possible to collect the organic activity of a plant and see if it has these three elements. For me, there is, there always is, there is music and there is beauty in these processes. Of course, everything was collected and transposed to musical instruments or synthesizers, that doesn't change the fact that there is music in natural processes, but it takes a minimum of education and sensitivity to identify them, an ignorant person, when he takes a diamond in the rough , only sees a stone, a jeweler envisions the jewel. |
