Prayers for you OP. It's only we here on earth who mourn. Your Dad has gone onto a new realm where there is no more suffering.

I am truly saddened to hear your father did not make it. May he rest in peace my friend.

May your faith increase during your mourning, may peace be your comforter, and may God's mercy lighten your footsteps.

I am so sorry to hear that. There are just no words that could help but it sounds like you were a wonderful son blessed to have a great dad who loved you guys very much.

I recently lost a beloved aunt who was like a mother to me. The grief is a terrible feeling but it does pass. I know I will see her again, and you will reunite with your father, I have no doubt this happens. We go to a better place.

I will continue to pray for you and your family, and ask God to help lessen the grief some.

My deepest sympathy to you, your stepmom and the rest of your family. Scrump. I know your dad is better than he's ever been but it's so hard on those left behind. You'll all catch up with him soon enough and I hope knowing that can make your heart hurt a little less.

Well you got lucky, he's a very handsome fella! What a joyous reunion we will have one sweet day. I miss my dad and can't wait to see all of my loved ones who have passed before me.
You seeing your father sharing The Word and knowing you have the assurance of being with him eternally one day is the greatest gift a father could ever give.

I'm so sorry Scrump.

My best friends dad passed on Tuesday. He was 76 years old and vaxxed. They think he had a heart attack or a stroke.

My thoughts are prayers are you.

The few times I've posted here was about my own dad passing in 2017. I sent a prayer his way, and wish your broken heart to mend but it takes time. I still cry pretty often.

Bless our dear fathers who are now in heaven. Hope your new year brings happiness, comfort and healing to your broken heart.

Been praying but it just felt heavy when I prayed but now it feels light and sad, but happy, so he must be in a good place.The photo of him reminded me of my Dad.
When I saw the date, my heart jumped...My own Dad lived with me and my family for seven years after my Mom died. As I was heading back to Milwaukee,he was sitting at the kitchen table with the old salt and pepper set and his newspaper. He was always my Protector, witty and funny but always strong of character.(They dont make them like these old guys anymore)But suddenly he looked so frail and old so I said "Dad come down there and stay with us, we're by a river with good fishing and a dock...". He said no, but a week later my sister called and said he wants to come live with you. It was the best thing for my kids to hear his WWI U.S.Cavalry stories and his near death experiences. Inter generational families weave hearts closer, kids today dont have that. Being with us gave him seven more years and my children a life time of memories.
He ALSO died on New years Eve, so Im crying as I remember the pain although he said the night before he wasnt feeling good, he was dizzy. He said dont take him to no hospital, he saw Mom with tubes and oxygen tent and ran out to his truck to cry and sat there for two days. I promised him. He said Im dying of boredom, I miss your Ma...Ive seen every movie twice, read every Lash LaRue book three times...all my friends are gone. You guys keep me here but I hurt all over and I want to go. I thought he'd snap out of it but next day he did pass with all of us and our priest around him and my sisters on the phone.Typically,for him, his last words were, "I didnt think I'd like this water bed but its so soft and warm..." we were chukling at that as he breathed his last, smiling.

We had friends in the industry and they embalmed Dad,gave us some quasi-legal paper work, lent us the equipment to drive up to the UP of Michigan with a big storm on our tail and the heater off in the station wagon. We stopped for a coffee at Peshtigo and came out to find a State trooper asking us what do we think we're doing with a body bag in the car etc. finally I said, look, this old guy was a member of the last drum and bugle corps from WWI. A big crowd is waiting for him...with all the New Years drivers out there do you really want to do paper work on all this and impound a war hero? He let us go. When I got in the vehicle I looked up and said to my Dad, I suppose you thought that was all very amusing and I swear I heard him laugh.
I asked my Dad to show your Dad around heaven and I'll light a candle tomorrow for both of them.(They'll be ok, its us here on Earth who need help. )
