01/06/40 - 12/29/21.

Rest In Peace - I Love You Dad

He’s 82 and my Stepmother found him on the floor at the foot of his chair, unresponsive, a couple of hours ago. She called the ambulance and he was taken to the local hospital, and after being examined by the doctors there and still being unresponsive, they told my Stepmother that he’s had a stroke and has a bleed, and called an air ambulance to take him to the regional medical center.

He just beat pancreatic cancer, completely, less than a year ago… and only a small percentage of people diagnosed with that type of cancer beat it.

Then, members in my family that are in medicine, without my knowledge, convinced him to get “vaccinated”… and about a month later he had a stroke.

He recovered from that one with slurring of speech and difficulty walking being the most apparent damage.

Today, Christmas Eve, he’s had another one.

I’m already at the hospital he’s coming to, and they’re just now landing the chopper that’ll bring him here, at the hospital he’s at now.

This place will be flooded with friends and family within the next hour.

I’ll be on & off the thread because as you might imagine, things are chaos right now.

God Is Great.

Merry Christmas.

Thanks guys.

Those that convinced him to get “vaccinated”, murdered your dad.

May your dad Rest In Eternal Peace. I know how it is to lose your father. I lost mine in 1989. I was only 23, he was only 57.

Just got off the phone with my Stepmom.

The funeral will be tomorrow at noon at my Brother's Church, with my Brother conducting the service for my Father.

My Father will be buried next to his Mother and Father, in the Family plot at the local cemetery.

My Dad's place is on +/- 500 acres in East Texas (Hunt County) - it's the same place he was born.

My Grandfather built it up in increments picking cotton while living in a tent on the hill on the first acre he bought, and saving his money to buy a horse. The horse market was over the border in Oklahoma. My Grandad walked to Oklahoma to the market, bought a horse, and rode it back.

He then picked cotton until he had enough to buy another horse, rode the first one back to Oklahoma to the market, and rode back leading it.

Repeat, repeat, repeat, until he had a herd, which he leveraged to buy land, resulting in the 500 acres.

My Dad was born on the land.

My family's been on this place for many years... the nearest town (about 7 miles) is only about 700 people, so it's a very tight-knit community.

The doors are never, and have never been, locked at my Dad's house... and everyone knows that.

My Stepmom said that when they got home yesterday after running ragged making preparations; casket, floral, obit., etc, that she walked into the house to find the place filled with food - members of the Church and surrounding community that knew what had happened had come by while she was out, and had brought tons of dishes they'd made as condolences.

That's how it's supposed to be done.

God is Great.

I love you guys sincerely.

Fellow native Texan here, and I too reside in beautiful East Texas.

Scrump, my most profound sympathy to you and yours.

A father is someone who can never be replaced, and I know you'll miss him...

But...

He is in the arms of Jesus now, and I can only imagine with great wonder just what he is experiencing...

Pure joy and absolute peace.

Absence of pain.

A new body with no limit.

Seeing colors never seen, hearing sounds never heard...

and so much more!

We are just passing through, occupying until He returns or until we go to Him.

Dear Scrump, may you take comfort in this great truth:

Scrump, please dont let these powerful and beautiful images fade away, you should write a Bio of your Dad and call it :"An American Life" because your Dad (and mine) are what this country IS and should keep on being...I desk-topped bios of my grandmothers and my Dad and had to make 500 copies of the one Gramma!( We all had big families on the Indian side)and the young people who read about such lives can copy them. And amazingly, they were not complex people in those days, but honest, patriotic, family loving, kind, spiritual and good friends. Thank you for letting us know him through your sharing...it brought back a ton of memories probably to all of us, of our own families. God love you and yours.
And to all our GLP family: Hug your family members this new years and it will mean more for having shared this.

How special that will be to happen at your brother’s church and to have him officiate. Your town, friends and neighbors sound like something right out of a Hallmark movie. It’s the type of place most of us can’t imagine and would love to have grown up in. Hard working people with integrity and compassion. I’m so glad for you to have such caring support. Your dad made a lot of that possible with the contributions he made to his community.

So sorry for your loss, Scrump.

I will tell you what a fella told me when I lost my dad recently. He said, "When I lost my dad, my whole world changed, and knowing I would never see him again almost killed me, until one morning I was shaving and when I looked in the mirror, my dad was right there looking back at me."

Knowing I have similar features to my dad, I immediately went to look in the mirror at myself for a minute or so and then just cried like hell. After that, I felt better, like I had a connection that could never be taken away.

 Quoting: Peach Head

The pictures of my Dad and pictures of myself at the same age (in our 20'3/early 30') are so similar it's almost uncanny in some.

He's been my role model for my entire life and taught me how to be a man - God, family, love, dedication, work ethic, honesty, etc... I owe everything I am to the tools that he and my Mom equipped me with.

His effect on my little Brother was so profound that he's a role model himself, and a Pastor today and for more than 20 years.

I lived in Dallas with my Mom after they divorced when I was 6, and would visit my Dad weekly/bi-weekly. My little Brother was raised in the same household with him since he was 5.

My Dad's spread Jesus's light everywhere he went in this world since he was a very young man.

What a beautiful tribute. I'm sorry Scrump that you had to lose your dad but so happy you know without a doubt exactly where he is today.

Re: Please Pray for my Dad. He’s just had a Stroke - My Dad Passed This Morning 12/29/21 at 4AM. Thank you GLP

My Dad was buried today surrounded by friends and family, and next to his Mom and Dad.

We did the service at my Brother's Church, with my Brother leading the service - the Church was packed and it was beautiful.

You guys are the most wonderful people on the planet, and I can't properly express my gratitude at your overwhelming support, but again, thank you sincerely.

I'm locking this thread as an online Memorial to my Dad.

01/06/40 - 12/29/21.

Rest In Peace - I Love You Dad
