I think we are entering a technocratic kleptocracy, one in which ultra rich criminals rule by default. Exploiting situations, stoking chaos, twisting the system to their ends, profiteering and extorting.

I think several of these groups are currently working together in loosely coupled collaboration. Later, they will be competing against each other for ultimate control, but right now they all share common prey (normal humans). The AI's the wildcard. I don't think it's fully able to operate on its own yet, and they're using it. But once it does finish 'growing the fuck up', all bets are off..
