Re: Calling all you smart medical glpers...I need help with a sinus infection
I should probably mention this since it has come up. We have had the ducts cleaned out and a mold inspection, but that was a few years ago. Luckily, that isn't it. I have had this problem since long before we even moved into this house, so it isn't environmental (at least not indoors). It could be an outdoor allergen. I really don't know. All I know is that after 2 sinus surgeries, I still can't get rid of it.

I'm going to try colloidal silver and hydrogen peroxide first.

If anyone has any brands they swear by, please let me know.

Also, I'm going to start eating even more garlic. I can slice those up and mix them in with my salads and I will eat the heck out of it. I'm fortunate in that I love garlic.

That seems like the cheapest and easiest plan of action to start with. I will still incorporate other ideas from this thread and I am going to update you all with the results of my various attempts to get the heck rid of this dang infection.

I really think that most of my yuckiness is from the infection rather than the RA. I don't have very much joint damage (except my fingers and toes), so I really do think it's the chronic infection that has caused me so much grief.

Hydrogen peroxide...collidal silver and garlic are the big 3 I always recommend. Garlic and Hydrogen peroxide seems to work best for strep and systematic infections. I use Collidal silver in the eyes for bacterial or viral conjunctivitis.

Get a nebulizer and start nebulizing 3% hydrogen peroxide daily.

You'll get about 100 treatments for $1.

Also, 1/8 teaspoon of borax in a bottle of water. It will destroy fungus.

Re: Calling all you smart medical glpers...I need help with a sinus infection
You can try flushing the infection with a neti pot and colloidal silver to get rid of a nasty infection but keep in mind that you've probably thrown the microbiome in the sinuses and your entire body out of balance with all the antibiotics. That's likely why it keeps coming back.

You might want to try probiotic sinus rinses to re-establish healthy flora in the sinuses. Get yourself on some good probiotics for your gut too.

It's likely that your rheumatoid arthritis is directly related to the sinus infection. This video has a decent explanation on why focal infections above the collar cause systemic disease.

You might want to re-think any use of anti-biotics because in the long term they destroy all beneficial bacteria that is essential for robust health.

Re: Calling all you smart medical glpers...I need help with a sinus infection
I was getting sinus infections a lot 6 years ago and I cut out all dairy.
Face steamer with Oregano Oil 4-6 drops.
Neti pot with Colloidal silver drops in it.

Others than raw veggies, what else do you eat?
Do a parasite cleanse. Raw veggies have parasites, which is why it's recommended we cook our foods, even if grown in the backyard.

Also, if you want try it, try tobacco snuff, or Rapè/Hapè. It'll clear those sinuses right out. And tobacco is Grandfather medicine (when unadulterated with poisons).

Eat as much alkaline foods as possible.

Good luck! I never enjoyed the sinus infections.
I still have some in my ears and have been doing vinegar and rubbing alcohol drops 1:1. You can do that too to hit it all.

I eat a lot of rice. I could start just doing stir fries. I just really love my salads with all my different leafies. Maybe I should toss some diatomaceous earth into the mix.

You guys, I can barely move.

If by RA you mean arthritis well - you might think a vegetarian diet is good for it but might be the worst thing.

Why? Because that may mean you eat a lot of legumes and grains and they both can cause lots of inflammation and autoimmune disease.

I recommend you try this for a while -

It might help with your diet. Maybe you can at least eat fish.

I also think not eating any organisms might be bad for your immune system.

Re: Calling all you smart medical glpers...I need help with a sinus infection
You need antibiotics at this point.

You can try Mupirocin Ointment in your nose. This treats nasal infections and you can freely purchase this product with the 2% dosage at PetMeds.

Here is info on Mupirocin : [link to www.rxlist.com (secure)]

What is mupirocin nasal (Bactroban)?

Mupirocin is an antibiotic that treats or prevents infection caused by bacteria.

Mupirocin nasal (for use in the nose) is used to treat bacteria in the nostrils of patients and healthcare workers during an outbreak of severe staph infection within a hospital or other medical setting. This can help prevent the growth of staph bacteria in patients with a high risk of infection.

And how to use it: [link to www.rxlist.com (secure)]

How should I use mupirocin nasal (Bactroban)?

Follow all directions on your prescription label and read all medication guides or instruction sheets. Use the medicine exactly as directed.

Do not take by mouth. Nasal medicine is for use only in the nose. If this medicine gets in your eyes or mouth, rinse with water.

Wash your hands before and after applying mupirocin nasal.

Use one half of the medicine from a single-use tube in each nostril, then throw the tube away.

With the ointment in your nostrils, gently press on the sides of your nose and rub for about 1 minute to help spread the ointment inside your nose.

Spice up your diet a bit. Add some heat to your dishes and the hotter the better. Just make sure you have lemonade (real) on hand to put the fire out if its too hot.
My favorite is cayanne pepper or to break in the newbies franks redhot or chalula will do.

Good luck.

Sinusitis is the reason I discovered colloidal silver over 30 years ago. I had been suffering from sinus infections my entire life. My work involved frequent travel all over the world. At each destination, within a few days, I would come down with a sinus infection. I would seek help from the local medical community, which would result in the injection of the latest antibiotic. That would usually clear it up in a few days. I had a long history of trying to remedy this situation. I had seen many ears, nose, and throat specialists and allergists and even had an operation, an SMR (subcutaneous membrane restructure), but I was still subject to infections. I was then, and I still am, disdainful of “alternative medicine.” I was in Las Vegas on a job and had been unable to work for three days. I had been bedridden with a fever that would break and reappear, drink a lot of water, and “sweat it out.” I was awake in the middle of the night and listening to an all-night radio program that featured guests promoting various “wacko” subjects, from flying saucers to conspiracy theories.

One of these guests was promoting colloidal silver. He sounded more rational than the usual people on this program. I had not been aware that silver had been used extensively as an antimicrobial before the introduction of antibiotics. The following day I called the local health food store and ordered an 8-ounce bottle of the colloidal silver they recommended. They sent it over by taxi, and the driver delivered it to my hotel room. It came with a dropper, and I started to flood my sinus cavities with it. Within two hours, all my symptoms disappeared. I was determined to never be without this remedy in the future.

A few months later, I went to the Philippines for what was to be a relatively long-term assignment. I had been using the colloidal silver I bought in Las Vegas, and it was preventing any recurrence of my sinus problems. I was down to my last few ounces, so I called the health food store in Las Vegas and told them I wanted more of the same thing. They said that they had switched to a new, improved version. So I accepted this and ordered. I received a dark, amber-colored substance with a vinegar-like taste and was very different from what I expected. I decided to find out precisely what “colloidal silver” was and how to make it. The process of electrolysis was no mystery to me, and Michael Faraday I regarded as an old friend. On researching the “state-of-the-art” for making this substance, I realized that no electronics expertise had been applied. I bought some pure silver, 999, and proceeded to make my own.

When I started the thread, the intent was to “clean up” the subject of making colloidal silver. There existed a great deal of misinformation about making colloidal silver. Some of this was deliberate, propagated by people who wish to sell you a product in a bottle, claiming that they were the only ones who knew how to make that particular “silver cure-all.” These snake-oil salesmen claimed that colloidal silver “kills all bacteria.” this played into the pharmaceutical industry’s hands. That industry saw silver as a threat to their bottom line. They couldn’t patent silver. They could not prevent individuals from devising methods to suspend particles of silver in water. The earliest processes were grinding the smallest pieces of elemental silver and merely adding them to water. Fifty years ago, you would find bottles of colloidal silver with instructions on the label to “shake the bottle” before using it. Some manufacturers added nitric acid to the solution, producing silver nitrate, a solution that could be easily misused. This effect was made famous by Rosemary Jacobs, who turned herself blue with it. The pharmaceutical industry became her publicist.

Re: Calling all you smart medical glpers...I need help with a sinus infection
Okay, so it started well over 20 years ago. At first it was a fungal infection in my sinuses. I had surgery to open up my sinuses and it got better for a while.

It started again, but this time it was cultured as staph. I don't know what kind. It's probably the same kind that caused my head infection after my chiari surgery, which means it could be in my brain by now, but MRI says it isn't (7ish yrs ago).

I had another sinus surgery and it got better again (about 3 years ago). Then I lost my health insurance because I have rheumatoid arthritis and can only work part time.

It's back. I have taken antibiotics. I have been doing the rinses with saline and sometimes also with budesonide. I cant get rid of it. I thought maybe I could just live with it but now I'm so sick I can barely function.

I don't know if it is the sinus infection causing it, the RA causing it, or maybe anxiety and depression due to the current state of the world, or a combination of all of it. Whatever it is, I am so sick.

You guys, I can barely move. In the past 3 days, I have been asleep for all but maybe 10 hrs total. I'm exhausted. I'm nauseous. I can't function.

I don't know what to do. I refuse to go to the hospital. They won't treat me well because I'm not vaxxed. I'm out of ideas.

I eat mostly raw veggies out of my garden because I don't trust grocery food anymore, but I do still eat some grocery store food like rice and beans. It's not my diet causing the trouble.

I get plenty of properly filtered water so I'm not dehydrated.

I regularly take vitamin D, C, zinc, quercetin, magnesium, calcium, l-lysine, and elderberry supplements.

I'm not overweight.

I am just so sick and out of ideas.

I know you guys are really good with this sort of thing. I hope you can help me come up with some way to fix it.

First of all, I need to get rid of this infection. I think it will help the most to be rid of that crap in my head.

Any ideas that aren't crazy expensive or just...crazy?

I’m sharing this because it worked very well for me. I do not normally get sinus infections but after cleaning some black mold issues, I got the most horrible sinus infection I’ve ever had this past summer. Did the antibiotics and was about 70% better but still not 100%.

I started thinking about what substance I could put into a face steamer and breath that would kill just about anything but had no side effects.
Initial thoughts were to use hydrogen peroxide but that can be a bit harsh depending on the mixture.

I settled on Colloidal Silver and started mixing 1 part with 1 part distilled water into a face steamer.

My routine is 5 minutes a day of this with a towel over my head every day, usually in the A.M.

This has done wonders for my sinuses, in fact they are clearer and my sense of smell is better than ever and I’ve always had a good sense of smell.

Let me know if you try this and if it works for you!

BUT DON'T LAZY. LEARN HOW TO USE IT PROPERLY.

THE HIGHEST PAID, MOST SOUGHT AFTER ENT DOCTOR WHO TREATED THE #1 OPERA STARS AT LINCOLN CENTER SAID THE NETI POT WAS THE MOST IMPORTANT/USEFULL INTERVENTION FOR SINUS/ENT INFECTIONS CONDITIONS.

BUT MOST AMERICANS ARE TOO FUCKING DIRTY AND LAZY TO LEARN TO USE IT PROPERLY, DISINFECT, STERILE WATER, PROPER SALTS 3 TIMES A DAY.

FUNGALS: COLLOIDAL SILVER, OREGANO.

PERIOD.

TOO MANY DIRTY PEOPLE USE DISGUSTING CITY TAP WATER AND GET FUNGI/AMOEBIC PARASITES UP THEIR SINUSES AND BLAME THE NETI POT.

I am so sick: (

The antibacterial effect and mechanism of action of a silver ion solution that was electrically generated were investigated for Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli by analyzing the growth, morphology, and ultrastructure of the bacterial cells following treatment with the silver ion solution. Bacteria were exposed to the silver ion solution for various lengths of time, and the antibacterial effect of the solution was tested using the conventional plate count method and flow cytometric (FC) analysis. Reductions of more than 5 log10 CFU/ml of both S. aureus and E. coli bacteria were confirmed after 90 min of treatment with the silver ion solution. Significant reduction of S. aureus and E. coli cells was also observed by FC analysis; however, the reduction rate determined by FC analysis was less than that determined by the conventional plate count method. These differences may be attributed to the presence of bacteria in an active but nonculturable (ABNC) state after treatment with the silver ion solution. Transmission electron microscopy showed considerable changes in the bacterial cell membranes upon silver ion treatment, which might be the cause or consequence of cell death. In conclusion, the results of the present study suggest that silver ions may cause S. aureus and E. coli bacteria to reach an ABNC state and eventually die.

If your objective is to keep a certain amount of EIS in your bloodstream as a front-line defense against pathogens (a brilliant move) then the following study is beneficial:
[link to theartofmakingcolloidalsilver.com (secure)]
Dr. Alton summarizes:

"Ingestion of properly prepared CS does not result in silver accumulating in the body. There is no evidence that silver deposits significantly in hair or fingernails and, in fact, the data supports the conclusion that after taking more than 2 mg of CS per day for several months, silver seems to be purged from the body (mostly through urine) at about the same rate at which it is consumed. Furthermore, upon terminating CS intake, it appears that as much as half the silver residing in body tissue will be purged (through urine and feces, but more and more through feces as time goes on) in less than a month. Even this relatively short residence time could be reduced substantially if several liters of water were consumed daily."

- Roger Altman

The following table from the PDF shows that as long as the silver is in ionic form, it will be eliminated from your system in three months.

sinus infection. =. poissons in the system
especially if your g.i tract is slow

poison can't get out with a slow system, so they back up causing slow lymph movement, causing thick mucus, causing sinus headache

treat the cause not the symptom, cause the band-aide always falls off eventually

too many variables (unseen enviro factors) could be causing your sinus problems, without proper diagnostic/full gene profile/lab work etc etc, telling you all sorts of new approaches or holistic practices will pretty much be premature and sort of just guessing "solutions" that might also aggravate your current condition..

wish you the best, cheers

Only read first page, so if this is a repeat forgive me.

I cured a similar infection eating large garlic clove twice a day for 7-10 days.

Chewed it good, it sucks but worked for me.

What type of antibiotics were you on? Was it antibiotics to treat acute sinusitis caused by a bacterial infection?

snort a few drops of colloidal silver until you feel it reach your drainage into throat. do that couple of times a day, you will turn the corner in a day or two.

I've been thinking about trying colloidal silver.

Mold
Mold spores are ubiquitous in indoor air. Fortunately, most mold kinds aren’t deadly, but the mold spores in your home’s air can still aggravate asthma and allergies. According to a study published in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences, there may be a connection between mold exposure and decreased immune system function.
Researchers have found that silver nanoparticles, such as those included in colloidal silver formulations, inhibit the synthesis of mycotoxins by Aspergillus, a fungus frequently implicated in mold illness . No cytotoxic or inflammatory responses to the silver nanoparticles were observed, suggesting that silver may be a safe, effective intervention for those struggling with mold illness.

Silver also inhibits the growth and formation of biofilms by Candida albicans, an opportunistic yeast that can cause gut dysbiosis. If you suffer from frequent vaginal yeast infections or gut dysbiosis, silver may be a handy tool to add to your treatment protocol.
