Many different reasons: Lack of bushes, shrubs, hedgerows, too much of the so called "tidiness disorder" among citizens and councils etc, wanting get rid of everything that is not lawn like/perfect, and wanting to always have the grass/plants/ very short/trimmed etc. Other factors, apart for the obvious pesticides ingested by the whole food chain, all sort of antennas, radiation, wireless... The British are the biggest birdwatchers out there I think, or used to be anyway, and they have noticed this decline in numbers of birds since many decades already. |

Then rats with plague-carrying fleas can thrive. Worked out very well in Medieval times. I get the feeling Your totally not obsessed and you definitely wouldn’t enjoy dispatching a few yourself, eh? In all seriousness, cats do hunt birds but this is likely NOT responsible for the ongoing dirth of birds on a global scale. Tampering with food webs and Gods design never ends well... As for T. gondii? Thankfully rare and easily treatable. |
