I’ve started mountain biking with Ghostly Screams and our current GoPro cam has a great pic but it’s shaky. Idk anything about them but would like to get a decent one we could actually watch and not get motion sickness during playback. Lol

Any suggestions?

hi

long time no see:

it's not the camera itself
it's where it's mounted

if it's on the bike then it's gonna bounce and shake and jiggle with the bike
get a head / helmet mount or shoulder mount
for less jiggly filming
oh hai!

Lolol! I wouldn’t know, I’m still on the bunny trails learning to drop in. He says I should do his trails but they’re intermediate and up and I want to see them before I commit. I’m a scaredy-cat. Chuckle

Yes! This too! Thank you so much! I’ve seen the downhill racers wear these but I didn’t know what they were called.

With yours and Red’s suggestions I think my problem is fixed.

I found this beautiful Reishi mushroom yesterday on the trail. It was already knocked over so I brought it home. I’ve been foraging for medicinals along the way. It’s really fun.

Oh Hai;

it's nutzo in these parts

I have a cheapo ION brand sports cam

I found the setting that allows it to continue past one hour recording
but I have to keep changing it every time I empty the SD card
or it only records for an hour and then shuts off

I was using it as a dash cam in the old car
there's nowhere to put it on the dash in the new car

gonna try to figure out whether or not I can use the solid mount on my bike

I'm a roadie so a hard mount to the bike shouldn't be an issued with too much jiggly

as for trails
experience builds skills
I've been a roadie for 40+ years
not into trail riding much

go look at em
pick one,
ya don't have to be a nutzo speed rider
run that trail until you're comfortable on it

then pick another
and get comfortable on it

...
oh hai!

Re: I need Go Pro help please. Recommendations?
Red! I’m doing exactly that! Found a trail here in a local park. Has jumps and berms. Luckily no one is Ever there at the same time I am because I’ve been doing it backward. LOL increasing my stamina going up the grade and learning to drop off the sharp side of the jumps and then riding what is normally the uphill portion, downhill to practice my control and steering.

As soon as I get comfortable with that then I’m going to turn around and take it the right way and practice going over the jumps. We were using regular trails at one of the parks but they’re so rocky here in Arkansas and narrow, I hit a tree with my handlebar and it dumped me hard on a bunch of sticks and rocks and then my bike fell on me. LOL I was out for a few days but I got my nerve back.

It’s just too hard to learn what I need to learn on a rocky trail thats more of a wet weather streambed than anything. The last time I was on a bicycle was when I was in seventh grade and this one seems so tall but I am not stopping. wink
Like Captain Peter Taggart says. “ never give up, never surrender!”
By Grabthor’s hammer, I will be riding with perfect form over the jumps next summer. ohyeah

I do love street riding though. It’s amazing how quickly your stamina builds.
We have a steep hill right close and the first time up I thought my heart would explode. I can take it now after only 3 times and make it without fear of heart failure. Lol

Don’t they call that hard tail? Whew! Well I will never do the enduro type stuff. I have already learned that super bumpy…. Jarring enduro type stuff is not for me.
Maybe in a summer or two I will join the smooth, flow trail downhill riders. That looks like so much fun. I’m a bit of a daredevil still so I am aiming for it. We’ll see if I’m brave enough though. I don’t heal as quickly as I used to. Lol

Ghost rides a hardtail. I bought my bike off of Amazon. Lol it has all the suspension and stuff. We’ll see if it lasts a year!!! I guess if I had known, I would have gotten something different. I’m not sure if our goal is regular mtbing or downhill. I guess I’ll just practice staying off the ground for now. Like full body, off the ground as in oops! Ouch! Chuckle

Well first you need to decide if you want a pimp or freelance both have advantages.
Linear thinking is too slow.
